It seemed to me that some of the scenes poked fun at the way their relationship was like that of a couple. E.g. "What does it matter? You took your eggs and you left? Did you expect me never to find new eggs", "And looking after our chick isn't work?", "Do you think we're ready for something like [buying a table together]" etc. By overtly poking fun at the very idea, they seemed to disassociate them from it i.e "isn't it amusing how they act like a couple sometimes? (Because of course that's a ridiculous idea)". So if the writers were trying to imply some kind of romantic relationship between them, they were sending mixed messages, to say the least. |
