Any ideas?

Over the course of my life, I have occasionally had dreams in which I am being called "Deena" (Dina? Deina?)

Within the past few months, I have decided to strongly pursue the Wiccan path (Wow, lots to learn), and since then the dreams are very, very, frequent.

I am always outside, though often in different settings...ALWAYS hearing Deena.

I plan to take this up with my mother, also Wiccan, although this is new to me (Ok, I am admittedly a little slow upon occasion), but...

I was wondering if anyone could help shed a little light on the subject.. any experiences.. ideas.. two cents ya just wanna throw in for the heck of it?

A long time Pagan friend suggested magickal content but frankly I'm quite perplexed..

Maybe it's your magical/power name or your name in a past life or the name of your daughter?

Ask your mom if she ever considered naming you that before you were born. Or better yet don't even mention the name just ask what ever possible names for you and if she says Deena then proceed to freak out!
Lucid dreaming or regression therapy would probably shed some light.

I probably can't shed much light,but I did find my name 'Kobol Strom' was spoken to me in a dreamlike trance state where I was out of body.
I have a series of dreams in a similair 'style',which involve interactions with extra terrestrial intelligences where I seem to be maintaining another life entirely.
Anyway,what I'm trying to say is,I relate to this name quite strongly,pretentious sounding though it is,and I can't be sure if its part of my ego or really an echo from a previous life.
You could try changing your Barbelith name to 'Deena',and see how it feels to communicate within this new personality.
What do think about the name?And what kind of opinion do you think the people in your dreams have of 'Deena'?

Ummm. I know your mum's a wiccan so you're probably aware of this but I'll mention it anyway- isn't Diana (as in the moon-goddess, not the rich dead broodmare) pronounced Deena when she's worshipped in her crone aspect? Just a thought.

I think you are on to something... I definately feel that this is "me". I relate and actually it feels more like my name then my given name... I don't know if this makes sense, but I have always felt that my name... well.. wasn't...

As for other people in my dream... there usually aren't.. just a voice, but its calling, not unpleasant, just calling... Like a friend calling, or a mother...

I will probe deeper into this, and I thank all for your suggestions given, and to come.

That was my first thought as well. Not about the crone aspect, but just - wicca + "deena" = diana, mistress of the moon.

I used to know a greek girl whose first name was Konstantina, but she insisted people call her Dina. I think it's a common shortened form of that name. Just throwing this in.
