Do you have one, do you have many, do you like them or think they're useless, do you have stories (stories. Anecdotes. About bookplates. Anectodes about *books*, for Pete's sake). Any particularly interesting one you'd like to show us?

Like this one? Or this one?

Er...

Kit-Kat?
Haus?

I've got a couple of nice ones with a kind of Chaos Thunderbolt design from the library of a certain well known Chaos Magician (brought 'em off him a couple of years ago). I quite like the idea of it myself, even if it veers towards the pretenious. I don't know if I could actually bring myself to stick things in my cherished books though.

It's a mark of POSSESSION of books. Those maniac monks at the Daigoji temple, in Japan, knew the value of their books, and the extension of their rabid book fetishism. Their bookseal, from around 1470, bears an inscription saying "To steal this book closes the gates of Heaven, and to destroy it opens the gates of Hell. Anyone who takes this book without permission will be punished by all the gods of Japan". Ooh, harsh...

I really do love the smell of old books. Always have done, long before I considered a book-related career. Don't know why, I guess I came to associate the smell with the thrill off opening up a book and going on a journey.
