500 progs on and the big green Sauron is back in the pages of the Galaxy's Greatest comic. The omens are good, and here's a preview to prove it courtesy of 2kreview.

http://www.2000adreview.co.uk/news/2004/2000adnewsround2405.shtml

Story starts in Prog 1395, in sale in 4 or so weeks.

This has been another plug from the most monomaniacal poster on this board...

You're street team, right?

Erm...I'm not sure I know what that means. I'm by no means street. I'm sat here with a glass of milk listening to the Bonzo Dog Doodah Band. That's not very street.

If you're suggesting I'm part of the 2k advertising section of droids, or in any way affiliated with the House of Tharg then the answer is no. In previous threads people expressd an interest in Tyranny so I'm letting them know when she's back. If I were a professional I'd have admitted it, because I'd be proud of it. Just an ordinary squaxx me.

Only four issues tho'. Bah! Anyone remember talk of an 'adult' Tyranny story that was going to be in Revolver? I'm thinking you here XBrunt...

I remember talk of that: It was going to be called something along the lines of "Tyranny Rex meets Alvin the Transvestite Chihuahua" and be a satire on the pop scene of the day, if me memory serves. Like the first Tyranny story, only more so.

I don't remember much else about it though; wasn't John Hinkleton supposed to be doing the art?

Rings a bell. I'll get flicking through my past Megs for the 2k history. Sure it was covered there.

Only 4 parts because they're cautious these days in the nerve centre. If it stinks to high heaven it's only a few weeks. It's no reflection on the creative team mind. Even the return of the legendary Robo-Hunter by fan faves Alan Grant and Ian Gibson on;y got 4 parts. Of course, a sequal to that is forthcoming, and I'd be shocked if Tyranny doesn't engender a sequal. With Smiths' legendarily slow pace it could be years coming though.

But. She. Is. Dead. And dead used to mean dead in 2000ad. She died in a brilliantly disturbing story and she should be left there. The story ended. It's like doing Revere book 4 for fucks sake ('cept they'd never have the balls to dig that one up).

I didn't know she was dead. Last time I read it she was a nun I think. How'd she die - the inner fanboy demands answers!

SPOILERZ

The nunnery gets attacked by this nightmarish army that want the "god skin"- tyranny is brainwashed back into being a psycho and sent to eart to awaken the "Deus Ex Machina". So to cut a long story short, the leader of the army sends these demons to kill her - they decapitate her while she's hooked into cyberspace looking for it, and take her head back to him (this is a bona fide disturbing comix moment, fair shits me up even now). Leader guy gets the god skin, and turns up WITH HER FUCKING HEAD ('ports, I guess), only to get wasted by tyranny, who is now the Deus Ex Watsit. Fucking brutal story, that, brilliant art.
