What do you think about the new Winterbottom film? Obviously, no one's seen it yet (unless you were luck enough to be in Cannes) but does the real sex in the movie warrant the media frenzy that it's caused?

Margo Stilley, the female lead, has been hounded by the press partly because she asked to remain anonymous. No one seems particularly interested in Kieran O'Brien the male lead.

Will this be the beginning of a new genre where pornography and mainstream cinema meet and people who like the idea of porn but can't stand the bad acting finally get the satisfaction they've been waiting for?

If the eds think this would run better in Head Shop or something, please move it. Thanks!

Brown Bunny, Intimacy, the Idiots etc. have all had hardcore sex in them, generally as a way of giving an 'underground' film a door into the mainstream. Each time a film comes out with real sex a few newspapers come out with an article to the effect of 'this brave and daring new film will open the door for more real sex in films', the film gets some free advertising that it wouldn't get from it's own merits, a week later everyone forgets and begins the year-long wait for the next chance to see some no-name actress with no-name semen dribbling off her chin.
