Weblogs: I've got one

So I've finally bitten the bullet and made myself a weblog, on which I shall have freedom to ramble on about whatever unpopular music I happen to be listening to, and also other things (he says vaguely).

Here it is.

I hope you will find the things you read there stimulating and enjoyable.

This is my first real weblog-doing experience, so any comments or criticism you might have, especially about the design, is welcomed.

And to give this thread a lifespan: Anybody else got any weblog developments to announce?

I have one!
I don't know where I left it, though.
I recall it had one post where I slagged off Nigel Rees and 'Quote Unquote'. Highbrow, huh?
Yours kinda preety, though. Stick with it.

Pretty is good. I'm worried the small text and big image might piss people off, but I like 'em that way.

Of course, what might piss people off more is the fact that they have every right to consider the content a load of utterly pointless guff, but then that hasn't stopped a million other bloggers..

There is nothing pointless about explaining to the world why The Mummies the greatest thing in the Universe, and why everyone with non-cloth ears should listen to them. Good work that man! The only bit you might have added to the list(just for the sake of completeness) is the use of the word "chagrin" in the song '(You Must Fight to Live) On the Planet of the Apes' - the greatest (only?) use of that word in a rock'n'roll context, I reckon.

So, when's the track by track review of the Les Waters album going up there, then? Heh heh. If you can't manage that, a painting representing the changes to your emotional landscape that occur while listening to 'In My Brane' will do.

I have one. I've just started it last week, so it's very short. And in spanish, I'm afraid,

(And, well, this is my first post in Barbelith. I've read somewhere that a "Hi, I'm new" message wouldn't be welcome, so... Here I am, anyway)

I think some of the HTML on yr blog is dodgy. Every other time I try to read I just get word salad, or just an error message saying the "file / cannot be found."

Word salad!

Mordant, I have no word salad for either of the aforementioned blogs, they're both cool. (Although in fact I guess Iwan Manjak's could be word salad since I don't speak Spanish.)

I don't get a 404 either. Do you think maybe your computer is manifesting visions of itself as a food processor?

I should make it clear that I am referring specifically to Rizla's blog, which I would like to read but can't. I'm using Mozilla; could that be causing probs?

I haven't read Iwan Manjak's blog properly yet, but I'm not having any problems there. No es ensalada de la palabra.

I got the same sort of thing for Von Kobra's blog but I didn't say anything because I just thought he was on drugs. Sorry.

That's some sort of Blogger fuckup. I've noticed it on several Blogger-powered blogs. No idea what the problems is - probably something to do with their upgrade. It seems to be less common these days so perhaps rebuilding it now would help.

Fridge is wise.

I rebuilt mine when I saw they'd upgraded just in case, and mine hasn't had any weird gremlins like this.

Here is what you are missing from Rizla's blog, reposted here because I find it hi-larious:

I mean, jesus, how much more pointless, non-specific hardcore man-rage does the world need? At least black metal bands have songs that are actually about cool stuff - like Satan and the end of the world and mass-murder. Stuff which, y’know, actually has reason to sound like the sonic equivalent of a tribe of gorillas tearing each other’s cocks off.

I'm afraid I have to disagree with him though; were there a music that ACTUALLY sounded like a tribe of gorrilas tearing each other's cocks off, that would be justification in and of itself for its existance.

Is this the thread where we get to pimp out our blogs?

Goody!

Sex, lies & videotape... pornstar preaching. Ventures into political, social and pop music commentary. Oh and there's a picture of Darius' cock there atm.

Isn't this fun?

Version three of the splendid InternalImages is moments away from being launched out there.

Sexier, bluer (in colour if not content, well not yet anyway) and split right down the middle between personal and professional.

And none of your blogger type fun on this site I'll have you know. All lovely crafted out of my own head through the power of HTML, Dreamweaver and Photoshop (and eventually Flash, but I've said that before). But only because my host's security didn't like talking to Blogger when I started out four years ago.

Sorry to hear Mordant and NumberNun are experiencing tech difficulties. Er.. I'm not sure what I can do about that, if anything. Annoying.

Glad you enjoyed that bit though, Todd. It should probably be pointed out for those reading that paragraph out of context that I'm speaking specifically about hardcore as a musical genre - I'm sure hardcore man-rage as a general, non-musical concept has it's place.. er.. yeah.

I like the look of the thing, is that one of the standard Blogger templates?

It is basically, yeah (I forget which one). But I've put my initiative to work in changing all the colours, fonts, margins etc, in order to better represent my idea of what a decent and tasteful webpage should look like.

I'm glad you like the way it looks - I was worried it would come out all horrible with the huge picture and small text..

Stoatie's blog is looking to be an excellent read too, if I do say so myself.

I've had this for awhile but haven't posted to it for ages, due to all manner of horrible turbulence going on. I've just reactivated it though and plan on making regular updates.

It turns out that, thanks to the magic of bloggar, I have not actually published anything to my weblog since March. Ahem. This has confirmed my belief that technology is evil, and labour-saving devices most evil of all.

Still, it's up now - here.

And just to blow my own trumpet (because I can and to think they laughed at my yoga classes) and as promised version 3 is now live (as of Tuesday night).

Click on the link in my above reply/statement/blatant piece of self pomotion.

I thank you...

why must you continually tempt me to stalk you, haus!

my livejournal is not a respectable blog at all, but simply serves as an account of the more mundane details of my days (aka 99% of my life). I really enjoy using it as a social tool - and in that goal, it has proven to be extremely effective.

it's goofy and very rarely informative, and all of the very best entries are reserved for my "booby talk" filter, which is lj member girls only, for the purpose of keeping sex and body subject matter on topic and away from YEAH BABY!!! WOOOOOOOO!!!!!! type comments.

that said, I encourage livejournal folks to add me and join in the joie de vie!

Less a blog than a technical experiment, my wee project can be found here. Flash player required (for the radio). I wouldn't mind some feedback on load times (if you have the time) and sound quality.

Batman Doesn't Love Me Anymore, people, is back on motherfucking track!

I have been angry about things, and that anger has been documented. I weirdly feel like everyone should say well done to me for that.

Is anyone else moblogging with Textamerica? (Not actually limited to America despite the name, as long as you can email you're okay.)

I have my camphone blog there, called Through The Mirrorball. It's not bad. Warren Ellis, who Likes His Phones, uses mobloguk, but I'm fairly happy with textamerica since I'm not that concerned about the minimal ads or the lack of copyright over your images. I don't upload anything serious there.
