Listening to Daft Punk - beats not listening to Daft Punk. Hands down.

Daft Punk are one of those groups that just endures for me. It's a shame many people didn't like Discovery, okay it has a bit less straight-down-the-line appeal than Homework, but the tunes always make me smile. Homework's great as well of course.

I'm so frustrated by my inability to explain why I like music or what effect it has on me. Whenever I really like music I get tongue-tied. Someone help me out here. What is it that makes Daft Punk so great?

I really love Discovery.

Up to a point. Both Discovery and Homework are overlong, imo. The best ideas are used up before the albums come to a close. I'd elaborate, but I can't find either of them at the moment and want to give them a listen just to make sure I'm not talking out of my behind.

I love both albums, Discovery a bit more. I wasn't really a big fan of dance music, but I'd heard enough good things about DP that I picked up Discovery, and just completely loved it. It completely defies description.

About it being too long, I think a big part of that might be that it's a bit of a front loaded album. 'One More Time,' 'Digital Love,' and 'Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger' are probably the best tracks and they're all right up front.

And, I absolutely love the 'Around the World' video, it's just amazing.
