Weapon x # 23: War of the programs...

Tieri tries to explain the connection between the different weapon X programs, the weapon plus program, John Sublime, the First super soldier and Mr Sinister. With a bit of retconning. Capitalizing or extrapolating from MorrisonĀ“s ideas...
Just thought some of you would be interested...
The story is a bit plain, but might get better, knowing Tieri... MandrakeĀ“s pencils are good, particularly because they were directly scanned, not inked over.

I skimmed this in the store out of curiosity to see Fantomex and what they did with him -- the whole "Roakoke" scrawled on the wall was weird - are they trying to tie this into 1602's Roanoke colony with Virginia??

But Tieri is pretty lame and I'm sure this story will not be worth really noticing.

I picked this up because it looked interesting. Then I read it and didn't understand it at all! Maybe I need to be more familiar with a lot of these characters lurking around the history of the Marvel Universe. If anyone is willing to explain this story I would really appreciate it!

I think it would be way too hard to explain. From reading issues at the bookstore, I see that this series is for continuity fans who kinda get all these easter eggs by seeing mutant hasbeens and throwaways from the days when there were 1,234 different X-Titles.

Just read the first part, #23, with the second part soon to follow.

I loved it. Really, really enjoyed #23. Yes, it was a little convoluted at first as to who was who early on, but once you've grasped Sublime, the Professor and the Director, a second reading makes it even clearer.

As for the ending with the three former Weaponeers all finding "Roanoke"....that was excellent. Congrats to Frank Tieri.

Yeah, I skimmed this in the store, what was up with the "Roanoke" reference? Tied into the Gaiman's 1602 or what?
