Have any of you heard of an unaired American tv show called Heat Vision and Jack (starring Jack Black)? You may have done if you visited the Dedbeat music festival this year.

If none of you do, I'm perfectly willing to jabber on about it, because it's a work of genius.

Was this actually filmed? I got linked to a copy of the pilot script literally years ago (hell if I could find it now), and it was hilarious.

Yep, it was filmed - I've got a crappy third-generation copy of the pilot on VCD somewhere. Very very funny stuff - but I'm kind of glad it never made it to series, I think the joke would have worn thin pretty quickly.

As a one-off short film, though - great.

Don't forget it also had Owen Wilson as Heatvision, the motorcycle. The whole thing had a very "A*Team"/"Knight Rider" vibe to it, which I think was the point. But yes, very likely would have gotten old quite quickly.

Supposedly Jack Black also does this underground TV show called "Computerman," where he runs around with a monitor on his head in his briefs. I really need to find out where he gets his drugs from.
