i'm sure i shouldn't be doing this but i thought i'd try anyway. sorry.
i've got, what i think is a dailer that i can't get rid of. it's called Hot_Kiss, i've located the exe file in Windows and deleted it and it's short cuts but it keeps coming back. it's been a real bumer getting online and i'm still not sure if i am paying out to this cunt of a thing anyway.
can you please help? PM me if you can.
and sorry again for posting this but i'm desperate.

HijackThis might be useful to help you get a handle on what is happening.
By the way, if by any chance you use broadband internet, and have disconnected the cable to any standard modem, then the dialer cannot actually dial out and cost you money, it can only annoy you intensely.

OK now for the dumb question, what is a dialer?

A piece of software that gets downloaded to your PC (if you're not careful with the security of your machine) and automatically dials out to a premium rate number every time you connect. They normally leave an icon on your desktop or create some new links in your favourites bar, so it's easy enough to see if one sneaks through.

By the way, reFLUX, you might get more answers to this if you ask it in the Random Q&A thread - I don't think allthat many people read P&H.

I'd move this thread to the Conversation if I were a P&H mod, but I'm not.

You probably want to try spyware checkers, too. I posted a whole load of links on another site which there's no point in repeating here....
