I've just heard that Cartoon Network just pulled the plug on Samurai Jack and may not even air the last 4 episodes. Well, they will get aired in the UK and Canada but it seems it's done here in the US.

Can anyone confirm this? Anyone want to start a Save Jack campain or should we just let it drop?

I think part of the "problem" is that the show couldn't find it's audience. The recent schedule shift is an indication that the Cartoon Network tried to help the show.

It is sad. In a few weeks there really isn't going to be any reason for me to watch TV.

I'm quickly realizing that it all boils down to budget. Look at a show like Charmed or King Of The Hill, all of whom most likely have about the same audience as something likie Angel or Samurai Jack. On a network like CN, also, ratings mean next to nothing. It's like, hm, as opposed to our hottest show, which got a fifth of 1% of the entire national tv audience, this show only got an eighth. Big deal. The real problem is that, obviously, Samurai Jack is an expensive show to produce and, since it doesn't break into 11 Minute segments like Spongebob it can't be sold to foreign markets. Thus cutting off another potential source of revenue. The same thing happened to Invader Zim. Ratings really seem pretty irrelavent to me when it comes to boutique networks. It's all about the budget.

I just saw the first set at my local StreetBreakers (those who wontonly break studio street dates for media products in the relatively safe confines of Manhattan's Midtown district).

So it exists.

Dammit. It wouldn't be so bad if they were given time to do a proper final episode and finish off the story.

But...dammit.

Did a little kicking around. SJ doesn't show up in the schedule for cartoon network in regards to the last four episodes. But then again, no show is ever scheduled beyond a month and a half. Just have to hope...

Good news, Jack-fans. (Well, some good, some bad.)

On September 25, Cartoon Network will show four new episodes. Allegedly, they are the final episodes. So, it's not all good news.

Between each episode, CN is going to re-broadcast the whole Clone Wars micro-series.

Genndy Tartakovsky won two very well-deserved Emmys on Sunday for Jack and Clone Wars.
