Good Omens film

Almost twenty years ago (86 methinks) Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett made a book making fun of The Omen about an angel and a demon haning about in Britain finding the apocalypse being foisted on them by a misplaced Antichrist. (if I don't make any sense, go and read the book).

I for one love that book. The big question is whether or not the film will actually be made. Its spent such a long time in the planning stage, you never can tell. Terry Gilliam plans to pick it up so it may keep its charm, but I'm afraid it will just be viewed as a British version of Dogma here in the US. Oh well.

I'm guessing if either Mirrormask or Gilliam's Brothers Grimm are a big hit, it could give him a boost in getting the film going. I think it'd probably be a great movie if it was made. A British Dogma? In the eyes of some people probably, but I don't think Dogma made the big an impression on the general public that it's to be used as a basis for comparison.

Damn your eyes.

You got my hopes up, I thought you were confirming that this was actually and finally going to be filmed. I wish they bloody would make a movie of it.

And supposedly casting Johnny Depp and Robin Williams at that. But this blurb is still all I've heard about it, and that was 2 years ago.
