Anyone know of any good links to a fairly comprehensive list of locations used for TV and movies in London?

I'm sure there's a website with a list of pubs used in movies - scene of "Krays" stabbing etc. - I know where the tunnel scene from Clockwork Orange is, or at least I know a man who does....

Will take a look around...

equaly lazy - the Area around borough market has been used as a location for both bridget Jones' diary and lock stock and two smoking barrels...

Xoc too am lazy. Lazy and bored. A moment ago I was counting the raindrops on the window before me.

This BBC webpage links to many other other sites, covering different areas of London and their famous film connections. Must be more. Will be back if I find 'em.

You want this: where did they film that.

I also, somewhere, have a list of location agencies, but that's mostly people's houses.

That site could be so much better, Lil, if it expanded upon "London" for the location. But all good, helpful suggestions so far.

There's a Babushka bar in Westbourne Grove that was the pub in which various scenes of Withnail and I were filmed.

And about two minutes away from me, just outside St. Pancras station, was where the house is in The Ladykillers (except it's a really crap and obvious bluescreen projection so not sure if that counts). And King's Cross station was used for the Harry Potter films.

Have you tried The Knowledge? You have to pay to use it, but when I worked in that industry it was a bit of a bible.

Also, are you trying to find a location as a Location Manager, or are you trying to skimp the cost of one and find a location yourself? If the former, you really do need to do a bit of work in order to have yourself a little list of good places, but if the latter, either walk around and scout a bit (it worked for me) or employ a learner Location Manager who doesn't want much in the way of payment. You can find such eager people on Production Base.

Olulabelle: Scouting for locations? Christ, no. I just want to add a bit of vague, salving realism to the fictional equivalent of a chimp masturbating with a rock in either hand.

That's a horrible, and indeed visually painful image.

You'd think that I would have realised by now that when Barbepeople ask questions like, 'Can blood that's frozen, then thawed, be proven to be previously frozen?' and 'Does anyone know any good London locations?' they're generally asking for fictional reasons, and are referring to fictional things.

But no. Not me. I gaily believe they actually want to know for real-life reasons.

I am such a fuckwit.
