The man they arrested the other day for kidnap was released with no charges and 2 days later he hangs himself...do ya think he kidnapped Amanda then?

I always find these "found body" things a kind of double-edged sword- think Sarah Payne. When her body was found there was a whole "I hope it's not her" thing going on in the tabloids... horrible as it sounds, I hoped it was... because otherwise that meant ANOTHER kid had been killed, and they still hadn't found the first one. Which would have struck me as being twice as bad.

I'm off work this week, therefore not as clued up on current affairs as I should be... do you have a link so I can offer something more substantial? (Sorry... rereading the above, it sounds horribly patronising... it's not supposed to be, it's a genuine question.)

Slightly OT.

This is probably one of the best arguments against regional news reporting I can think of recently. It seems to be a big deal in England, but you'd be hard pushed to find anyone in Scotland who'd even heard about it. Someone recently said at a conference "When the news says 'We now go to local news' what they really mean is 'Now we're going to make sure you know nothing beyond your immediate area'." Good point, I though.
