Contacting entities in dreams..

Last night I had a weird experience...I had just fallen asleep, and I had a dream that didn't feel like a normal one. It was kinda like a lucid dream, because I knew I was dreaming, but the difference is that I couldn't control my dream-self's actions or control the dream in any way. In fact, in my dream, my dream-self seemed to be sleeping too. It was a very Borges-like scene, "a man dreams of himself dreaming" and all that jazz...
Anyway, in my dream-self's dream (which I observed passively) he (or me) contacted an entity, but it had no shape, no name, nothing, I could only feel it's presence. He said something that I can't recall, and then my dream self asked him "Why don't you realize you're just a product of my unconscious?", or something like that, in a mocking way. Seems like my dream-self is a smartass--
The shocking thing was the entity's answer. It was a very loud and deep "NO!" and it jolted me out of the dream...
The whole thing left me kinda disturbed, so I wrote down what I could remember and went back to sleep, despite my fears..
I've had similar experiences before, but this is the first time I've talked back to an entity and got a response. About a month ago I saw an entity in a dream (I can't remember what it looked like, my psychic censor must have worked overtime) and it said its name, which startled me and I woke up..
The weird thing is that I didn't have this kind of experiences before I started fooling around with magic (though I've only casted sigils and meditated until now), but maybe the things I've been reading have affected me and made me aware of things I wasn't aware of before.
What do you guys think? Did you have any experiences like this, and if you did, did they happen more frequently after you started practising magick?

Now, I dont actively practice magic, and I had a simlar experience, over and over actually, well about three times in one night. I was at my aunt's house, and I fell asleep, and there was a woman, only i Knew she was no woman, and once I realized this, within the dream, she changed into a horrifying hag. She cam at me and i fell from the bed, I woke up, and I was still in the bed. Needless to say i was terrified. I fell asleep again, only there she was again, I quickly fell off the bed again, only now it was her and a another litte girl, both were terrifying, and I knew i was in the dream state, and kept forcing myself to concsiousness, it was like trying to jump, with huge weights on my feet, I kept saying GET UP GET UP, and finally i fell into my body awake. I couldnt sleep here i decided, and I went to the bathroom, visited another room, just killed some time before i Knew i needed to sleep again, and this time, nothing, she was gone. Now i dont know how this applies to you, but im just saying im sure this was a spiritual experience, and i rarely practice magik, so your dream could be unrelated to that.

I don't know if you know this, but your experience seems remarkably similar to a succubus or the sumerian Lam (feel free to correct me, fellow lithers)-- I've heard about a lot of similar experiences around the world, the russians have a whole myth about the ol' hag, if I remember correctly. Thank god I've never had one of THOSE experiences...and you should be thankfulit didn't mind-rape you...they tend to do these things...
Also, the huge weight you felt is the same as the "pressure over your chest" that happens a lot in these situations. And if I recall correctly, there was a thread about temporal lobe seizures that seemed to explain these kinds of phenomena as exactly that, seizures. I'm not sure my own experiences qualify as that, since I didn't "see" any entities, just felt them..
Just one question, did you see the "hag" with your eyes open, or was it just in your "mind's eye"?

Tell me about the psychic sensor, man it's frustrating.

I've just woke up and i had a really wierd dream that's just gone, i'm gonna have to put a pen and paper next to my bed from now on.

I think i saw one of the watchers aswell, (i know, bold statement and all that) i woke up at some point and..............i can't believe i'm saying this, something blue and black with wings was stood looking down at me, and it didn't look happy at all.

The annoying thing is, is that it also didn't look like the type of thing to annoy, it looked pretty........strong and the type of thing that will cause me trouble if i'm not on it's good side. It seems like monday morning has given me something to think about. I'm usually cocky or something with them but this entity looked like it commanded respect or something and quite powerfull. If it gives me trouble though i'm not hesitating about telling it where to go.

Another thing is words. I often at some point in my dreams lately seem to be reading things and i picked out a word that i'd never seen or heard of before and remembered it but then i fell back to sleep and my sensor has wiped it, i remember some of the word but it's deliberately putting other words over it when i think of it that are just like it to create more confusion.

The psychic sensor makes me wonder whether it has my best interests at heart, it really does.

And as for that watcher thing, it looked like it would of made an amazing ally.

About that word, Maitreya...did you see it written in your mind's eye or did you hear it? Because in one of my dreams an entity told me what I believe was its name, luckily I had a pen and wrote it down inmediately. I've looked everywhere for that name, but it doesn't ring any bells to me, and I can't even think of its meaning... What I've just realized is that it's name ended on "el" like most angels. I hadn't thought of that before, but if it was an "angel" (I woke up when I got a glimpse of it) he didn't sound too friendly...
I'd suggest you ask him for his name if you see him again, though he probably won't want to tell you (name=power)...in that case, tell him that if he's such a powerful and awe-inspiring being he shouldn't be afraid of you...that is, if you can "say that" without pissing yourself in fear of retaliation...

Yeah it was a word that i read. The other night it was a word that i said to a couple of other people and then that went too. The only thing that made it worse was that i woke up shocked that i'd remembered this strange word that i've never heard/seen before and i repeated it a few times but when i woke up they'd gone.

I'll have to put the pen and paper near my bed tonight.

Ive had a number of dreaming lucid dreaming to waking episodes that seem to have their own ontological idiosyncresies outside of either mundane waking or dreaming. They seem to me to all tie into the collective unconscious and memories stored that are not personal experience based. In one dream my consciousness seemed to float in a detached state from the body, though its physical volition was still accessable at will. The power was granted by sometime of anti societal iconoclast that looked like he came from some 70's psychedelic rock band.... anyway he gave me goggles that did this, then i think we were going to some type of library (of memories?) after walking through a wall where skeletons sat.. but i then woke up
and i see aliens as symbols of the Self.. a modern myth.. ive been wanting to see more what Jung thought of this.
Black elk says that these "space men" are actually human themselves, that in his encounters he would joke with them (telepathically of course) saying "Hello UFO people" because he knew how absurd it was that people had been thinking of them as extraterrestrials!!

I think it's very important to keep some pen and paper on the nightstand. Even if you're only writing down a few sentances, they can be valuable keys (at least in my experience).

I recently dreamt that I was on Barbelith, IMing with the gods (no, I didn't realize the 'lith had IM service either). One of the names stuck with me and I looked into it a little bit. Turns out there are a lot of interesting correspondences there and the date of the dream itself was significant. Invoked him with good results recently.

So grab some writing gear! It's dream time!

What I'm gonna try next is using sigils to encounter specific entities in my dreams...but could I also do it to contact entities while I'm in meditative trance? Have you tried it?

My own personal experince , always have a friendly entity as backup (a mantra for summoning a buddha is alwasy good the old Namu Amida Budshu works nicely !)

Or in one case where i had an entity manifest in my room. Visulisation of bolts or force to repel (or in my case) "destroy" the entity. Oddly i find Dragonball Z/managa a very handy thing to use in situations like these !

that's really cool..but in order to banish them with a kame-hame-ha I'd have to keep myself from shitting my pants if an entity appears in my room while I'm awake...

Something just popped in my mind..Is it too stupid to do your meditation or magic in your bedroom? The energies conjured during magickal workings may be responsible for entities appearing in dreams or manifesting when you're not fully awake...

Its propably a good idea to do it away from where you sleep IF YOUR FORGETING TO BANISH . Which im sure your not ? Like brushing your teeth best to do before and after !

I haven't done any banishings yet, cause I've only been practicing magick for a month, and I'm only doing meditation (I only got into trance a couple of times) and some sigil magick. But I haven't tried any banishing rituals yet, since I haven't done any complex magicks, and I just recently started working on my visualization skills, so I'm not able to visualize the symbols/circle of light and all that stuff that's necessary for banishing rituals.
