A superb thread. Right:

Queen of Outer Space
American Pie: The Wedding
Love Actually

And a whole lot of other films already mentioned here. Commendably shit taste, Barbelith. Well done.

?

Surely by bad films we mean films that are probably considered trashy by 'lithers in general. Otherwise, where's the fun to be had? I want to look at your selection and say "by god this guy likes some really shit films", and chuckle quietly. I don't want to look at your choices and think "hmm, how controversial".

Another case in point.

The Godfather
Who really like this film anyways?

Well, you apparently. And me, and most of my friends, and...

For fuck's sake.

the all-time guilty pleasure movies for me are Wild Things (murder! sleazy sex! blackmail! neve campbell, matt dillon, and denise richards getting it on!) and Bring It On.

i would also like to second Ford Fairlane and Freddy Got Fingered ("come on, fuck your daddy!").

perhaps we should also mention Showgirls here.

i'm also developing a thing for softcore porn parodies of major movies, like Gladiator Eroticus and The Bare Wench Project.

Hard Target

Starring Jean-Claude Van-Dammage as a Cajun with a hero-mullet... on a motorbike.

Sometimes his mullet is in slow-motion.

2000, surely.

Unless there's been a sequel, in which case: why wasn't I informed?

I'd also contest that it's actually a pretty great film, but never mind..

point taken on the Jesus thing. and yeah, the friend who showed it to me was wrong, it was made in 2001.

And hard target definitely belongs here, what the hell was john woo thinking? but I still keep watching it....hmmm

Hard Target is amazingly bad! I love it. Wilford Brimley has the wordst cajun accent ever! I keep expecting him to start quoating from his Quaker Oats commercial "It's the right thing to do and the tasty way to do it".
And the classic line of the movie "How does it feel to be hunted?". Sheer Brilliance!

Lionheart
17:16 / 16.04.04
Hmmm.. Let's see...

There's "Hackers". The most quotable film ever.

There's "Devil's Rain". Everytime I watch it I have a Holy Shatner experience.

"Confessions of A Dangerous Mind" I think it's great. I don't know if anybody else thinks that though.

"Spies Like Us" Genius movie.

"Flash Gordon" Best Queen-soundtrack movie ever.

"Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" The movie that dares to ask: What the fuck?

Lionheart
17:17 / 16.04.04
Oh, and I forgot about....

"Freddy Got Fingered" Hmmm... How do I stop my dad from chasing me? I know! I'll jack off an elephant and make him come on my dad!

Pure genius.

there's nothing wrong with half of these films if yer not a pretentious prick. you all seem to have a healthy sense of self and fuckin' dumb ass senses of humour.
ps Freddy Got Fingered IS awsome!

The Timaximus, The!

O my god, Bring It On is so totally amazing. But I find it hard to think of it as a bad movie in the way, say, The Ninth Gate is bad. (I loved The Ninth Gate. I dunno why, just loved it. Twice in the theater, even. But I know it's terrible.)

Is 'Bring It On' the one with the cheerleading contest and a storyline that was a complete rip-off of 'Pretty in Pink'?

Cos if so, yes, it ruled.

Monster Squad

"Kick him In the balls", "Wolfman's got balls?". Classic.

Hey, I mind somebody rubbishing the movie that had the genius to create a political philiosophy that actually calls itself "minority privilege".

Not sure about these: Carry on Screaming, Carry on Cleo, Human Traffic, Car Wash. And since it's movies only, there's no need to mention Will & Grace.
