Fucking awesome!! Thanks for posting this. How did you come across this online?? Do you usually scan that catchdubs site?

Yeah, that Catchdubs site is a music blog which I see frequently, and it sends a lot of traffic my way from time to time.

That's like putting "Osama was right" on walls in Marvelverse. Now, I DO think it's cool that fiction invades reality, but ... hmm... I wonder what would happen if OSAMA WAS RIGHT began to appear anywhere here.

Anyway, Kickass! And that's a different symbol than the T-Shirt I bought months ago.

It looks like it's taken from that T-shirt design.

I see what you mean...but I think this is more like 'cool comics reference' than hate-spewing imagery.

Oh completely. This is totally just somebody taking a cool image from comics and publicizing it. But... after the reactions in Austen's books this week, I'm looking at the ramifications and thinking it's not "the most kewlest thing to do".

I find this to be offensive reverse-racism anti-human bigotry. You don't see people using offensive terms like 'mutie' in graffiti.

Something ought to be done.

wow! does anyone know where in NYC this is? has it shown up in more than one place?

OH MY FUCKING GOD. MY WILDEST DREAMS HAVE BECOME REALITY.

I was just sitting in class today thinking about when I would get around to making my "Magneto Was Right" shirt. Does anybody have a home-made red one that was a success story? (I recall the iron-ons having that glossy-margin thing which people thought would be a problem on a colored shirt...)

As it turns out, that photo was taken in Boston, not NYC. This is what Catchdubs posted today:

Mad X-Men heads have been linking as well, because of that "Magneto Was Right" poster I took pictures of in Boston (somewhere in Allston, by Mike Gormley's crib). I'm down with muties, although I haven't been up on shit since the Chris Claremont/Jim Lee era. And on the real: Tom Orzechowski was a bad-ass letterer, right?

Dizfactor and doyoufeelloved, my t-shirt is still available at Cafepress, along with Omega Gang caps and other stuff. It's also available as a free download from my blog, which means you can screen it or iron it onto a red t-shirt, which you can't do at Cafepress.

To get around the shiny transfer problem when doing it yourself, use a transfer that's marked for use only on LIGHT coloured t-shirts (i.e. one that doesn't iron the white background of the design onto the shirt), and cut around the edges of the design as much as possible, so there's as little blank space being transferred as possible, thus minimising the shiny area. After you've done the transfer, put a blank sheet of paper over the shirt, iron that for a while, and peel off gently -- there's a slight texture difference between the transfer area and the shirt, but the shininess should be almost completely gone. At least, that's the way it worked for me.
