This should make a nice umbrella thread for all questions regarding the Land of the Rising Sun.

Been working on a samurai comic (burned out on my rockabilly epic like you wouldn't believe to the point of hiatus) and I'm stuck trying to figure out how to say "Mmm. A meal/delicacy of demons. Delicious!" for the title of my blog.

I've gotten as far as 'oishii' as delicious and 'oni' as demon. But that's where my grammar/vocabulary ends.

Maybe you should call your blog "Highly Punchable Cultural Tourist" instead.

(Hey, if the joke's worth making once...)

it might be, but DM's already kinda made it hirself.

Never mind, eh?

To say 'it is delicious', you would want 'oishii desu'.

Thanks Squirmelia.

And thank you, Barbelith's answer to Comic Book Guy.

But perhaps a fitting one.

(Hey, if the joke's worth making once...)

Especially when this time around it proves so neatly that you don't have to be a cultural tourist in order to be highly punchable.

This is exactly why I wanted to have a poster ratings index. We could settle the punchability matter once and for all.

Todd, where's the thread where I suggested that? This new layout has me so revved up I can't keep Barbelith onscreen for more than 2 minutes w/o wanting to rub myself against the screen.

I think it's called "I have a brilliant idea."

And, Q, I want you to punch me as hard as you can.

Okay, it was called "I have an idea". I'm afraid I'm giving you too much credit. Though it did show up in a search for 'brilliant'.

hey, todd, can *I* punch you as hard as I can?

your teeth are MINE, baby!

Goddammit, Todd, that's my line! Your line is, "I wanted to destroy something beautiful."

You can't punch me in the *teeth*. I don't want a mouthful of bloody chiclets. Think of how gross that would be. Bloody chiclets. Yeesh.

first of all, MAN, chiclets have found the 00s, MAN, and come in all sorts of badtasting but allegedly refreshing flavors like strawberry breeze. which are RED, like your choppers are gonna be when I finish shuffling your gums.

Also, I think you will find that you meant to say ~teeth~. You are not God's perfect snowflake, Todd.

Okay, I'm taking a poll. Please PM me if you find Jack Fear at all punchable. Your identity will be kept strictly secret.

Jack, I won't publish my results, I'm just curious. I will only tell you how punchable Barbelith finds you if you ask me nicely.

Should we start another thread standardizing the use of "~x~" and "*x*"? I think the world needs this. Where's Munt?

If I know my munt, she's writing me a PM right now.

My apologies for dragging this off topic.
I`d like to know a little more about cherry blossom and the use of fans in a shinto wedding ceremony.
A little bit of google shows me millions of irrelavant sites.

Cherry blossom parties sound kind of cool, and happening around now. I haven't seen any cherry blossom around here, but there is magnolia. Anyone up for a magnolia party?
