f-ck Dark Knight
viva Animal Man
B'Wana Beast is a cool campy villian and the crudity of the art adds to that
i also really like the end ... it had a real twilight zone twist to t at then end ...

There are a couple of Animal Man threads here and here - they're full of info on what happens later on in the series, though, so beware of spoilers.

Glad this came up actually... I just bought the second and third TPB's... is it essential to read the first one first?

(I know its a dumb question but the trades could be fairly self contained)

Otherwise I have to track down the first trade whilst desperately ignoring the two I have sat by my bed...

Rawkusboi: No, I wouldn't say it's essential, you'd still be able to follow the story and everything. Reading the first five issues might be useful, cos those stories get continued later on, but you could always read them as 'prequels' at a later date.

If you've got the last two trades with you right now, there doesn't seem to be much point in depriving yourself of their existential animaly goodness. It'll only end up making you cross.

Thanks El C, I'll make a start on them this evening then. *beams with happiness*

Not sure which issue it is, but the Red Death story is one of the best single issues of a comic that I have ever read. So humane and beautifully drawn.

O.C.,

I could not agree more!

I ranted at length about Animal Man here. I'd love to hear what you think, once you're done with the whole 26 issues storyline.

I recommend reading at least #5 "The Coyote Gospel" before you finish with the series.

I'd hate to have missed that story personally before getting to the end.
