You have my sympathy. I too was once a grocery store employee. There were times when I would have conversations with the Baked Bean cans I was piling up because it was so dull. After I'd been there a while I got to work on the butchery counter though, operating the slicing machines. I could have parlayed that into a career, it was such fun. It was annoying waiting for customers to come along and ask for something to be sliced though, this being a small store in a small town. And in those pre CCTV days, I could also sample the merchandise surrepticiously. |
