Comic Books Forum Header

The one we've got right now is functional, but

(a) it's a little blah

(b) it invokes formats & genres, which (I think) needlessly limits the medium's scope & potential

(c) I miss the cool tagline "the imaginative literature of the future."

Without invoking particular titles or creators, and in twelve words or less, sum up the Comics discussion.

My candidate:

The imaginative literature of the future: Every picture tells a story.

Anyone else?

Sequential art, comics and graphic novels: the imaginative literature of the future?

The first three are just a few of the terms used to describe what we would probably all term as comics and the second part just reminds us why its important...

Well, whilst I hate the the tag 'graphic novel', I'm not sure any of the other forum headers are any less blah.
That's not to say ours couldn't be better, just that most of the others are equally crap.

Perhaps the header should include the phrase 'sequential art', or failing that, 'tights, pants and booties'.

Tetrachromatic mythologies of the past, present, and future.

comics aren't just about fiction, nor are they all 4 colour works...

Shamelessly uncreative backing for What Jack Fear Said. Concise, effective.

Comics aren't just for kids

A really exciting new header.

Cripes, how about Comics: if you don’t already know what they are then you’re too fucking stupid to be here?

Seriously, another vote for what Jack said, it’s perfectly formed and yet still a bit quirky. Unless anyone can actually come up with a convincing argument against using it, maybe just go with that?

I'm not to keen on the 'every picture tells a story' bit, maybe its just me.

This is prolly quite an academic thread since it's ultimately tom who does those forum descriptors and he seems to want to keep 'em very short at the moment.

With you on "every picture tells a story", Sleaze. Sounds a bit, well... naff.

Are comics really "the imaginative literature of the future", for that matter?
