Here's some initial concept art for the Thoth Boy animation. Even though these are rough attempts, I'm really loving the direction this is going.

These are terrific - nice sketches, carly! My two thoughts are: 1) his hair is a little too triangular in front, and 2) the 'Egyptian skirt' might need to be a little clearer that it's one of those skirt-type things as opposed to something else. Maybe the lines on it could be a little thicker or black (or another solid color).

But, I know these are just very rough sketches you came up with and Imp loves to post fun stuff cause he's excited about the project

As an artist myself, I know how it is when you show a totally simple sketch and people might want to critique it, and you're like "I did this in two seconds, not putting much thought into it!" So take my critiques with that grain of salt.

I mention the skirt thing just cause I remember reading Bruce Timm talking about how in animation, the more streamlined, visually clear & simple and sleek things are, the better and easier to animate.

I know you mentioned you're a Timm animation fan too...

Imp, howcum when I try to save that mp3 or any other in that directory I keep getting prompted that it's a Quicktime file? Is that you or is that me?

I will add my voice to the chorus of voices wishing to voice your Horus, et al. I actually tried auditioning for the pilot of Evan Dorkin's "Eltingville Club" that was aired on Adult Swim, but I lacked the Staten Island edge to my voice.

Just one thought: Thoth himself is dressed, well, a touch twee. Not that I myself have a problem with that; I'd be a big fat hypocrite if I did. I'm just thinking in terms of market potential. I'd fully expect to see him grinding at a Motherfucker Ball. That may fit the image, but Middle America is not nearly so forgiving. That may be irrelevant; on the other hand, it may not.

Thanks for volunteering you voice but Horus isn't a character in the animation (he's in the comic) and I'm not sure we have anymore talking roles. Finderwolf is Thoth Boy, Carly is Anne, and I think the character of Set only yells "Nooooo!" when he's defeated, which Finderwolf could easily do himself. Now if you absolutely want to be a part of this I'll be glad to have you and you can give the best "Nooo!" performance of your life!

And the tweeness was totally intentional. Fuck Middle America!

Vlad LOL that comment made my day. I'm from Staten Island myself. The "edge" is mostly a mutation of the Brooklyn accent, since a lot of Brooklynites move here. What other shows have you tried for?
