Dick Cheney!!!!!!!!!!!!!

then again Crowley was misunderstood rather than plain evil :-)

Neuberger could be played by Bush......Cheney could stay in character and fug him up the ass both on screen and off

poppa Bush could be Choronzon "I am I......... PRESIDENT 42........Clinton AAAARRGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!......I am I .......PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!!!!"

Wolfowitz could be WAR

Perle....... Death

Blair........ Pestilence

Saddam................. famine

Aiwass...............Rumsfeld or Ashccroft (shudder) 'the law is for all"

Ollie Reed could have made a convincing Crowley no doubt about that! Or Marlon Brando............... Ken Cambell I reckon.

Marlon Brando has the look for sure, but his voice is a little too huskey. I found some sound clips of Crowley when doing a Kazaa search, AC's voice is surprisingly high pitched. But who knows? Personally, I think that, while it might hurt the marketabillity, the Casting director, or who ever decides on which roles go to whom, should look into either character actors or unknowns. I am certain however that they'll find someone. I just hope the movie gives an even handed interpretation of old uncle Al's life, I would hate for this film to a "Battlefield Earth" for Thelemites, though that would be amusing in it's own right.

Anthony Hopkins, Bob Hoskins, or Mickey Mouse. Of course, with enough make up and voice dubbing, anyone could do it.

I incorporated the voice of Crowley into one of my pieces...not sure about copyright though...although Aleister may set Choronzon onto me from beyond his infinate void...

I've said this elsewhere, but I still think Hugh Grant.

If nothing else it would guarantee the cash, the promotion, the backing this'd need, and the Great Beast as young man was a bit of a head-turner, I suppose if you'd met him this deranged English fop. And since he didn't do much in his " autumn years " really, except self-adminster the medicine in his Brighton bedsit, this kind of seems like a role for someone Thirty-ish, Forty-ish, with a grade 1, a suit and these terrible eyes.

I think Hugh has it in him.

Yes Ollie Reed would have been great

but I can see Hugh Grant as a young Crowley as from the pics I've seen he was good looking. It would stretch Hugh a bit as well, taking on a role with a bit more depth than your Hollywood stereotype of an Englishman that he always plays

Jude Law is a god actor but I am sick of seeing him in just about everything so I hope the role doesn't go to him

I actually think (don't laugh) that De-Caprio is a good actor and if he could pull of the accent, he might be able to play a young Crowley. There is something menacing about DeCaprio to me.....a coldness in his eyes

That said, I still wish Ollie Reed was here, he would have been great playing the ageing Crowley. People remember Ollie as a drinker but they often forget what a good actor he actually was

Oliver Reed played Crowley on the BBC Radio 3 play "The Death Of Scriabin" - he certainly had the right voice for the part...

The names most frequently associated in rumours about forthcoming big-budget biopics are Doug Bradley (Pinhead in Hellriaser) and Alan Rickman.

The latter might be good...

My site (http://www.lashtal.com) has followed the various rumours over several years.

I wonder if they're looking for extras? It'd be fun if there was a bunch of us 'lithers walking around in the background of that movie. I'd fly to England just for that!

Isn't Brian Blessed a born-again Christian? Playing Crowley would be a test of his acting skills!

How about Avid Merrion???? They can't really get away with casting an American as the ole beast himself in his different guises. Don't compute with Hugh Grant at all - same surname - how about Richard E Grant???

Further developments, quite possibly...

This came in my email:

"Aleister Crowley: Revolt of the Magicians" Website to Launch July 16th Producers Overwhelmed With Response to Crowley Film Announcement SANTA MONICA, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 07/13/2004 -- Worldwide interest in the real life sorcerer Aleister Crowley remains so high that producers Baker & Schrager found themselves inundated with thousands of e-mails upon the announcement of the making of "Aleister Crowley: Revolt of the Magicians." Patricia Baker of The Big Picture Agency LLC is co-producing the film with Michael Schrager of The Dominion Entertainment Group.

The action/adventure screenplay written by Crowley and occult expert and author Lon DuQuette and Cinemagic founder Jim Bratkowsky is based on actual characters and events surrounding the destruction of Edwardian England's most powerful and notorious magical societies.

> "The response to our first press release was so astounding," explains Schrager, "that both of our mail servers were overwhelmed." In order to free their business addresses, the producers are in the process of designing a website to manage the inquiries and accolades that continue to flow in several months after the initial announcement.

> Apparently Crowley remains larger than life and has sustained enormous appeal. "Crowley's story is rich with real magic and fascinating characters," explains producer Schrager. "Just imagine an adult Harry Potter/Indiana Jones meets the devil himself," adds Baker. The film brings to the screen young Crowley's magical training, experiments with demons and shapeshifters, and the lessons he needs to battle some of the most famous and powerful magicians in England, including Bram Stoker, creator of Dracula, Florence Farr, the most glamorous and famous actress of the London stage and Irish poet William Butler Yeats.

> Lon DuQuette is the author of over a dozen popular books on the Occult and Qabalah, including the recent release, Understanding Aleister Crowley's Thoth Tarot, and the very well received autobiography, My Life With the Spirits. Jim Bratkowsky is an accomplished writer in television series, longform and feature films.
