Post-Modernism is dying, and I'm dancing on its grave

It is, trust me. And I am, trust me.

When post-modernism is defined, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more incomprehensible and more difficult to define.

post-modernism can't die - but it has already become dull and a bit boring.

Why precisely is this thread here? Can we make it a bit more specific to the forum because I'm currently inclined to move it to conversation.

Well, de Jade seems to be a bit confused about what post-modernism is, which is going to make dancing on the right grave a bit tricky. The abstract says "Is the great POP beat dying?". So, I think he has got post-modernism mixed up with pop art and pop-cultural art forms. What he means by this I'm unsure - video art? Art about superheroes? - but I'm sure he will be able to help us out with this. Either that or he believes Point-of-Presence email to be the engine of post-modernism, and further that its days are numbered, which is also a possibility... once we've clarified that we should have a better understanding of whether and where to move it.

I find DeJade's attitude especially confusing in that Morrison's writings, especially Flex Mentallo and The Invisibles.

Yeah, the whole postmodern thing can get pretty pretentious pretty quick, but don't dismiss the movement just because some snooty twit in a turtleneck and $200 glasses gave you a hard time at a party.

Don't be silly. Post-modernism isn't dying.

At some point i hope we get into eternalism and return to our roots.
