It's here! After the shortest winter I can remember! But it's not even April and all the snow is gone and the forecast is for nothing but 13 degrees for the next week!

Hooray! Everyone celebrate spring!

...with apologies to those still in snow... and asking for understanding for those who have been enjoying 10 degree weather for weeks now...

I declare today to be the first 2007 Spring day!

We had 15°C plus sunshine. But it wasn´t just that. There was the typical smell lingering in the air, that without a doubt made it clear that winter has gone and left! My diary says, my hayfever last year started on march 27th, so I´ve still got a few days left to smell the spring before I have to stick some spray up my nose.

Btw, the news said last autumn was so warm, that statistically it is only supposed to happen once in 10.000 years. Maybe this spring will be another statistical anomaly?

-35°C this morning. Snow up past my chest in the front yard. Cats going insane after two weeks of can't-leave-the-house weather. CANADA I LOVE YOU BUT YOU HURT ME SO BAD.

[Totally out of the blue and uncalled for]Honestly I cannot believe Brits moaning about the weather. I mean, people like Matt gets -35 at this time of year, and maybe summers get really hot, like in the Midwest. Here in the UK the coldest you'll get is maybe -10 way up in Scotland or on the highest points in Wales. The warmest around 35. That's a range of 45 C. There are places out there, like back in my native Norway where the winters can get down to -60, then in the summers you'll get 25 degrees. An 85 degree range right there.[/Totally out of the blue and uncalled for]

And oh yes, lovely springy weather in London today!

Help, I´m melting! It´s 30°C and it´s supposed to stay that way at least until the weekend. After walking around seeing beer and icecream dwindling and children playing in fountains, I´ve returned to the shady safety of my cool home, wherte I´m busy rehydrating.

Anyone else having some interesting weather experiences?

Spring in Austria

Austrians are saving their snow underground, for snowball fights in summer?

Maybe someday I´ll also have some Austrian holidays again, but they are even more difficult to understand than Bavarians.

Winter begone, Spring 2008 has started!

We already had T-Shirt days with sunshine and 15°C starting with 09.02.08, but last sunday we had about 17°C and Bavaria even had 22°C!

Today was the first spring rain day, but I don´t mind since the air smells nice and fresh.

Has spring reached you yet? Is there still some cold or snow left? Share your season sightings!

It's snowing here today. Seven-day forecast: snow on Wednesday, snow on Friday, snow on Sunday, snow next Tuesday. Tomorrow's high is -10C. I shall to curl up and die of hypothermia now.

Early spring my ass.

It's been dull, dark, and dreary here in Kentucky, alternating between freezing rain and snow flurries.

I don't consider it spring until March.

The wood frogs have come out here, they usually do in February. They swim around the surface of the pond and sound a little like clucking chickens.

It seems nuts, they'll come out when it's so cold. The other day it was barely above freezing and they seemed totally fine. Also as usual, they come out for a few days and sure enough, it's going to snow tonight.
The red maples flower buds are swelling, also— when they pop it's one of the first real signs that spring is on the way.

So this morning it was 10(-12C) degrees with 5 inches of snow. Mt. LeConte, in the Smokies, had a low of -1(-18) with 22 inches of snow. Bitchin!

Well, spring this year is a bit slow to start. I tentatively call today Berlin´s first Spring day 2009, but I was walking around with winter clothes nonetheless.

The first buds did appear the last couple of days, but even today it´s just 13 °C.

How about you? Spring said Hello to you yet?

Spring has sprung in north London. I know this because its a little too warm for my black polo necks, which have been consigned to the drawer for the next seven months or so.
