I find that a little bit of Burroughs mixed up with a lot of Borges does wonders for breaking down my sense of reality.

Particularly, say "Tlon, Uqbar, Obris Tertius" from Ficciones followed by Burroughs' Cities of the Red Night.

I read Nancy Friday's Women on Top and a Kate Wilhelm novel called Oh Susannah contemporaneously, until I realized that some weird similarity in their milieux was making me expect every scene in the KW novel to turn into a badly-written sexual fantasy. Not exactly a mindbomb, but disconcerting.

This may not qualify because technically they're comicbooks but I just experienced this today and I had to share. Try reading Daniel Clowes' "Caricature" at the same time as "Bizarro Comics" by a lot of people. Now that is a mind bomb. It makes your head say, "WHEE IT'S FUN AND RANDOM, WHEE IT'S FUN AND my god, the world is so horrible, I can't believe how WHEE IT'S FUN AND RANDOM, WHEE etc."

Just thought I ought to share. Also as is probably not possible with the others on this thread I literally combined these two: I read one from Caricature, then a few from Bizarro, and so on.
