he's mostly involved in his own art projects at the moment i think

he's published several books including 45, How to be an artist, The manual (how to have a number one the easy way), Bad Wisdom and K Foundation burn a million quid which all talk about various aspects of his work.

he also tours his show 'how to be an artist' so it might turn up in your town sometime. Ask a local art place to invite him!

A lot of his ideas seem to be exploring his own relationship with art, what it is, who art is for and whether it can reach an audience beyond those who usually consume art.

How to be an artist takes the conceptual art idea of the dematerialisation of the art object literally and cuts up a richard long work to be distributed amongst those attending the performance.

Its weird because you can have a 20,000 fraction of an actual work of art which could have hung in the tate or whatever. Because the concept of the original work has been distributed with the fragments its almost as if the potency and reach of the work is increased with its destruction. homeopathic art?

He is doing a new thing called "The Soup Line" - there was a great interview between him and Stewart Home in The Guardian a few weeks ago. I met Stweart Home the other day - he's much nicer than his persona, but then again isn't everyone?

Bill Drummond is presenting his 'how to be an artist' thing at the artsdepot in Barnet, North London from 26 Oct. It's well worth checking out if you live in that area. I don't unfortunately
