Found objects online, a mixed bag (Madonna's Sex?) but some good stuff.

So much corn do I give.

As for Ashida Kim, I trust the average punter here has enough wherewithal to judge for themselves before buying the propaganda of someone clearly in competition with an agenda to push...

Um. Oh dear. Thanks, Morgue; but I worry about the legal implications for the board if people link to naughty copyright-thefty material. Am I just being paranoid again?

Er, Mordant, that's what 90% of this thread is.

I think it's a valid concern worthy of policy discussion, but it's not something that only arises with the latest post, it's been there since the start.

Linking used to be considered legally benign, but this is definately no longer the case in Australia, after someone just lost their 2 year battle for linking to MP3's.

So it's a solid point, really.

Well, I haven't checked out all the links. Much of the material linked to seems to be pretty old and therefore presumably out of copyright. I think I might go and start a thread in the policy...

Ooh, hadn't thought of that. I know the martial arts books are freeware, and a lot of the other stuff is real old, but I don't want Madonna getting all up in my shit, she was trained by Taimak from The Last Dragon, that dude's HARSH.

I experienced really bad experiences with using SOTN in the long run, I would say to the student to study another Chi Gung system - the whole evil thoughts - evil ego bit can anchor install you into bad obsessions and shite!! Learning to use energy and tour it is a must for any student. Please check stuff out before you attempt - we all learn from our mistakes. The study of Tai Chi I think seems a must for anybody to practise MNT - the Mind can seem like a disquieting stream of obsessions and shite. Depends how old you are and what you have bombarder your mind with!! Raja is good, but then when you meditate you can access that state easilly by reto-casting into that Resource State. Deep Breething and concentration on the Haras Point can ease - look at Soto Zen.

Not sure what you mean by "evil thoughts-evil ego". Kim's style hinges on dissolving the ego, as an aid to passing unnoticed.

For here you are,
A cogless, meshless, automaton;
A body upon whom officials had performed clinical autopsy,
And left all you that mattered back upon empty seas,
And strewn over darkened hills.

Here you are,
Bone dry, bottle empty, fireless.
Chill, with only your hands to give death to men.
A pair of hands is all you are now...

The Road to Hel: A Study of the Conception of the Dead in Old Norse Literature.

An older text so possibly some of the archaeology-based info might be a bit outdated, but well worth reading. I'm about halfway through it at the moment.

Another windfall- this claims to be a C.I.A. manual on Coordinate Remote Viewing.
The Controlled Remote Viewing Manual

Might as well put the Lentation manual here, too, for posterity.

Google Books is currently rocking my world. They mostly just offer a few sample pages, but if the book is in the public domain you can read the whole thing. Best find so far: the full text of Thorpe's Northen Mythology.

Nice Mordant but is there a way to see a list of all the books available in Full Book View?

Seems the Google cheat sheet I got last month is already out of date...

I read an essay by the guy above in a book entitled fragments of bone, the essay was full of energy and i loved the writing style, The whole book fragments of bone is the best introduction i have read to neo african spiritual traditions, pretty academic in places but well worth the effort to read.
Another fantastic essay in the book describes the spiritual principles of caporeira angola, also a great essay on twins.

Glandsmaster: a miscreant might get around the sample page limits by using multiple accounts, guessing at the text on the next page might be and searching for that text within the book.

Just picked this up of boingboing, Cornell Library's fantastic images homepage has more than a few tomes in it's collection. Images from Austin De Croze's Calendrier Magique and Stanislas de Guaita's Le Serpent de la Genèse: Le Temple de Satan (including this famous image of Baphomet) are all in there.

"Grimoire" came out in the late '80's, Quants, and as I recall (I bought a copy) it was bloody awful.

That's OK I can't get the link to work anyway (google it if you care dear reader). Having now read the first few pages which are mostly about being asleep I can confirm it looks pretty awful. Here's a sample;

Modern life, as lived by most of us, seems to conspire against our being 'awake'. The robotic self, originally evolved as a necessary/defensive element of human consciousness, has now become almost too efficient, assuming more and more authority and allowing us to sleep far more than is 'good' for us, for instance, to drive a car adequaely whilst engaged in conversation. Difficulties arise when the robot begins to operate where/when it is not necessary/appropriate, undermining free will and narrowing our choice of alternative attitudes/decisions/actions.
It is time we awake to our own ignorance. By injecting energy into our perceptions and learning to assimilate the increased feedback we may confidently expect from such an act of positivity/commitment, we are able to penetrate more deeply/participate more fully in/to living situations.

Too much slash for my taste/brain/eyes.

I am mentioning this because the brief copyright discussion further up this thread but the last link is breaching copyright for quite a few books, some of them new and others a bit older but they are still within the copyright of the authors/companies.

Does anyone know where I could get ahold of the Corpus Hermeticum in it's original, untranslated format in a pdf? All I can find is Mead's translation. The Kore Kosmou in Greek would be fantastic too.

Thanks!

The closest thing you'll find is Walter Scott's Hermetica, which is (semi-)searchable on Amazon right here.

Or you could buy a copy.

Yeah, we own that one. The hubby and I are doing an art project together and were hoping to find the greek text rather than having to go through, character by character. Thank you for the suggestion.

Anyone who wants NLP related reading should switch to torrenting and go to the using places where they gather those evil industry destroying beasties. There are some excellent batch torrents around.
