The Structure of Alan Moore's Promethea

I have been giving a lot of thought to Promethea recently. It seems to be heading towards 32 issues over 5 books. If so, this is not surprising, as 32 is the total number of sephirah and paths in the kabbalah, and 5 is a symbolic number for magicians (especially Thelemic ones).

This reinforces the impression I get that this work is of particular importance to Moore. He has put a lot of his personal experiences into it, he has experimented endlessly and brought in most of the other ABC characters in. The fact alone that the comic seems to be ending at the same point as Moore's involvement with ABC and his alleged retirement from comics is compelling?

So. Does anybody have any thoughts? Has anyone read anything about any of this in interviews?

certainly moore is using promethea as a way to express many of his ideas about magic (which is a personal subject for him) and the structure of the universe. although these are fanciful and often directly linked to other texts, i'm fairly certain that they accurately represent one of the perceptual structures that moore uses. ideas, thoughts, but...i often wonder how much moore puts emotionally into the books, or if the lack of emotions i receive from the comic is a flaw in the writing. all of his characters have feelings, eminently plausible feelings, but their feelings tend not to inspire reciprocal feelings in myself. i watch them and think yes, people act that way.
