Happy birthday Pam Ayres.

57 you know.

(I can just imagine her sayin "I'm 57, and I'm still Pam Ayres. I always hoped to be John Betjeman by 50"...)

Totally off topic but does anyone know about a poem which (I think) is called Good in Bed? It's not by Pam Ayres, but it's someone very similar. The first line is something like, "In bed I never eat toast" and I think the last line is, "I like to think I am very good in bed."

It's bending my brain now, and I've searched and searched but I can't find it anywhere. Who can I ask about it? Is there a Humorous Poem Society or anything?

O-belle: Victoria Wood, probably.

Stoatie: I actually went out with Pam Ayres for a while back there in the early Nineties. She's not at all how you'd think. All those cosy rhyming couplets... do in fact mask... a very dangerous mind.

Olulabelle - I know in the Poetry Library in London (it's in that complex of buildings on the South Bank where the National Theatre and the Royal Festival Hall is) you can leave bits of poetry on a noticeboard and people who come in can get in touch to let you know where they come from. You'd think there'd be something similar on the internet.

'Whuy wown't Bruce Springsteen fanciey meee?'

Definitely my favourite poem. After Jabberwocky and The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner, of course.

Olulabelle, that is terribly familiar to me as well... are you sure it wasn't a post on Barbelith? Probably in a thread called something like 'my girlf is shit in bed' or 'how do i find a girl whos hot in bed u decide'...
