Haha. It would be mad if he had wouldn't it?

I reckon he's an illuminati taking the piss.

Well? What were the secrets?

I was just messing, blame the boredom.

But in a strange way, it does make sense...the aprons, the handshake, the imagery. It's the secret society equivalent to a game of Calvinball

Well on a more serious (or more stupid) note click here for infowars and go to the part thats about Bush and Kerry being in the Skull and Bones society : Is that supposed to be a reptiod with the skull and crossbones in front of it? Maybe this whole Icke reptoid thing has connected with something in the collective unconscious or something.

Hey "Zen", Do you ever take an interest in stuff like, say, the Two Ronnies?

---
22:21 / 13.03.04
Nope, you've lost me. Can you explain please?

illmatic
22:24 / 13.03.04
They're one of my favouite comedy duos. What do you reckon?

---
22:26 / 13.03.04
Yeah they're funny.

Eclipsed, however, by the cut and thrust of their comedy superiors Cannon and Ball.

Who are themselves forever in the shadow of the Chuckle Brothers.

But which one? Ronnie Corbett or Ronnie Barker - who's the daddy?

Stoat: My sis say Chas and Dave the other week and apparently they rock

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
23:11 / 13.03.04
Barker. Definitely.

Chas & Dave... like an urban version of the Wurzels. Oh yes, the Wurzels. "In moi 'eart oi am always YEO-VIL, oi beolngs to the Yeovil Town..."

illmatic
23:13 / 13.03.04
STOATIE! It was a trick question, I wanted to see how Jack responsed. I mean the answers obvious, Ronnei Corbett would have lasted 5 minutes in Porridge, Grouty would've had him for breakfast...

---
23:21 / 13.03.04
Yeah porridge was cool. I liked the one where one of the guys gets released, goes to dig up someone elses stuff that's supposed to be worth loads and then the floodlights come on and he's in the middle of a football pitch or something. That rocked.

But Barker could never - never - have pulled off the role of Timothy with such aplomb. He has neither the emotional range nor the technical ability of Corbett. Can you imagine Barker giving us a tear-jerking "Sorry, mum"?

I think not.

Spatula Clarke
00:23 / 14.03.04
Or, indeed, a "Sorry, mother"? No! See - I tried thinking about it and I ended up getting the line wrong. I believe this proves my point, gentlemen.

00:27 / 14.03.04
Mr Dupre : in what forum would a conspiracy thread be best suited?

Spatula Clarke
00:28 / 14.03.04
I suspect that'd depend on the precise nature of the conspiracy, old bean.

---
00:31 / 14.03.04
Oh i meant a general conspiracy thread..........sort of like a melting pot where connections between conspiracies can be established in the one thread.

Spatula Clarke
00:35 / 14.03.04
Conversation, I guess. Unless you're thinking about doing a Foucault's Pendulum and trying to write your own conspiracy theory tying all the others together as fiction, in which case Creation.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
00:36 / 14.03.04
Richard Beckinsale would never have starred alongside Corbett. And I think that says all that needs to be said.

---
00:37 / 14.03.04
Foucault's Pendulum....will it melt my tiny mind? Have you any links i've not read that stuff before........thanks anyway, if i feel like the aliens are being a bit tough on me i'll assemble one and add to the conspiracy madness.

Spatula Clarke
00:38 / 14.03.04
Stoatie, Beckinsale would have been totally wrong for the part of Timothy's dad.

Seriously, what were you thinking?

Spatula Clarke
00:45 / 14.03.04
Jack - see the old thread here.

---
00:57 / 14.03.04
Thanks i'll have a look at that, i thought when i saw 'Beckinsdale' you was talking about Kate, oh well.

I've another one for you - whose funnier, Les Dawson or Ronnie Barker? They'e kind of like Northern and Southern versions of the the same cultural archetype, amusing fat man who like to dress up as women, but who would win in a gag fest. Perhpas this is immeasureable.

Jack, if you want to read something deecent about conspiracies, check here. IMO, trying to link all the different conspiracy theories into one is a device for simplifying an amazingly complex world. Hoowever, to say there are not bodies of vested interests working away behind the scenes seems to deny everything we know about human nature and politics. So as a rulte of thumb, a rule meta-conspiracies (ie. grnad conspiracies linking everything together - "it was all the lizards/jews/masons") = bad, while theories which operate on a small scale, have vreifiable evidence etc = well, if not good, at least possible. Not sure if that's clear. Check the essay for clarification.

Dawson or Barker difficult. On the one hand Ronnie Barker took on the Northerner role by playing Arkwright in Open all Hours on the other hand no-one could misplay the piano quite like Les Dawson.
Think I'll have to abstain on that one.
Can't have a conspiracy thread without giving the Templars a mention.

Fletcher tho' - it doesn't get much more cockney than that. It's a toughie, ain't it?

"There's Illmatic over there.............trying to say my lizzard super duper theory is full of shit?!? You ferking nancy!"

"Illmatic, was it you who threw this egg at me?! It's all lizards dammit, everything!!!............ferk, i think i'm growing scales."

Yeah i agree, i don't think all conspiracy theories add up to the same thing but i do think that in some cases many of them link up in groups and are of the same cause, but yeah, not all of them.

Cheers for that link aswell.

*David Icke obsession ends here btw............hopefully......*

Am I going mad, am I a Seer or have you previously posted that picture elsewhere on Barbelith?

---
12:19 / 14.03.04
Yeah i posted it twice, i had to for Illmatic. It would of been cool if you was a seer though and this was the first time it was here.

The other ones in the late shift thread.

Conspiracy theories, you say? Well you don't get many of those in mainstream pop culture these days, do you? Why is that? Is it because of a conspiracy?

Just in case any of you want the key for the masonic code:

go to a library or bookstore and look in the back of the Illuminatus trilogy. OOh! Behold the key to the Masonic code key! Oooh..secrecy!

I recently discovered to my delight that Paranoia magazine is still going- I haven't seen a copy in years. If you're after a reasonably intelligent conspiracy theory mag which isn't afraid to take the piss on occasion, you could do a lot worse. (The new one's got a great piece on Lovecraft, as well.)

Oh, sorry. I was getting dangerously on-topic, there.

Rock on, Tommy.
