Local6.com notes the numerology behind the Madrid bombings.

"In comparing the Madrid bombings to the 9-11 terrorist attacks in the United States, there are some numerical ties.

There were 911 days in-between the terror attacks in Madrid and Sept. 11, 2001 -- or 9-11 as it has become known... The Madrid bombings -- which happened on 3-11 -- also came 2-1/2 years to the day after the 9-11 attacks."

This is likely far more than coincidence and many authors have speculated about the numerological and kabbalistic significance of 911. Is there a Muslim gematria? I don't know. But suffice it to say that Islamic Holy Warriors probably choose their dates very carefully.

It's a very strange and oddly common place where warfare and spirituality overlap.
