A document from the National Institutes of Health (news - web sites) says under the "best case scenario," 23 stem cell lines will be available, far fewer than 78 deemed eligible, said Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif.
"It now appears that the administration may have misinformed the public ... on an issue of great public health significance," Waxman and Rep. Louise Slaughter, D-N.Y., wrote to President Bush (news - web sites) on Tuesday.

This doesn't seem to be front-page news right now, but why aren't more Americans concerned about the President's credibility? I hate to drag out a political cliche, but I can't help remembering that Clinton was skewered for lying about a blowjob.... The American people are not reacting to Bush lying, or, um, creatively telling the truth about a serious public health concern. (Though surely some of the fault has to go to the media for half-assedly covering the story.) |
