So, a lengthy referendum on public and leading scientific opinion is conducted to establish the feelings of the voting, taxpaying citizens (ok, subjects) of the glorious democracy that is merry England conclusively demonstrates that WE DON'T WANT IT. NO THANKS, DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENT!!

But we get it anyway. Isn't it great!! Haha.

Yeah, I just read about this. My reaction is more 'well, there's a surprise' than 'how dare they do this after the public consultations' etc., though there's a good bit of 'fucking fucking fuckers' in there as well. Yet another reason for people to feel disenfranchised by the political process in this country.

There's a good smackdown of GM by George Monbiot in today's Guardian as well, & of the spurious arguments advanced to promote its legalisation.

I'm going to start an allotment in my window-boxes.

count yourself lucky money$hot....did the safe(?) gm tests not take place north of the border,....I noticed another article today about some farmers in indonesia who have been growing gm crops for a year or so....the freaky gm crop pollen seems to have given them all lung problems and skin ailments...hmmm nice
