What a way to start my day...a debate on pies. Mmmm...pies.
The pies are all assumed to have the same filling, probably apple or plum or somesuch substance. Perhaps Mr. Dupre would be so kind as to agree on a similar filling for his pie, in order that the debate be confined to the issue of size? I throw the nominations for fillings open, subject to people not making their vote conditional on the nature of the filling and also suggesting palatable fillings (one large cockraoch pie being in my view just as bad as many little cockroack pies).
And for what it's worth: Lots of small pies makes it easier to share. Imagine having to cart one huge pie around to offer pieces to your friends. It'd start crumbling and leaking filling all over the place once you cut it open. Lots of small pies ensure that the last person you get to will be presented with a pleasing, intact and appetizing pastry product. |
