Why do you want to summon a Goetia demon?
Is it to accomplish a particular goal? If so, why do you think that summoning a Goetia demon is necessary to accomplish that goal?
Is it out of curiosity? If so, do you think that satisfying your curiosity is worth any possible risks?
If you're still interested, I'd suggest getting Aleister Crowley's Illustrated Goetia, with commentary by the ubiquitous Lon Milo Duquette. It should guide you through the basics.
Because magicians tend to be oblique and talk in metaphors, I'll be blunt. First, your chance of getting any sort of result probably will depend upon your imagination, will, and visualization skills. You may succeed. You may not.
Next, you're (almost certainly) not going to have a demon appear to you in a puff of smoke. Chances are that even if the ritual works all you'll get is a "feeling" that there's something in the room with you. That's what you'll talk to and bargain with.
Some say that summoning Goetia demons is simply getting in touch with a part of your unconscious. Some say it involves objective entities. In any case, working with Goetia demons sometimes causes obsessive thoughts and feelings of paranoia. You also might start experiencing unpleasant coincidences. On the other hand, you might have wonderful success, or have nothing happen at all. Just be aware of the risks. |
