Anybody familiar with the works of Jung or Joseph Campbell recognizes the universiality of mythic archetypes, such as The Sky God (Zeus, Odin, The Jade Emperor), The Trickster (Loki, The Monkey King, Hermes), The Savior, etc., and the use of myth as allegory.

I was wondering if anybody here has created their own personal God or Pantheon. I myself am a follower of Grasshopper, a Trickster deity, and am in the process of working out associated rituals.

This guy has an interesting take on the whole notion...

I sometimes "write" or "draw" entities into existence. I know that sounds like sad, sixth formish crap but actually I really think they have some kind of power, maybe like cave paintings do.
An example of this is when I was listening to the song Tainted Love (the soft cell version), just randomly scribbling/painting on some paper, and suddenly this "thing" emerged almost fully formed, as if it was drawing itself through me. It was a kind of green colour, a green lion with a face like a split pea with a row of eyes down each side of the split and huge whiskers. It also had enormous, rending talons.
I don't know whether this is a god/entitything I've created, or just me being paranoid.

I definitely think people model religious characters on themselves- I mean, men talk about a god whereas women talk about a goddess. European art shows jesus as a white man, when he would almost surely have had a darker skin tone typical of the middle eastern region (if he existed, i'm not saying yes or no, thats your decision).

Did you say hello and how's your day?
