Hi Everyone!

It's been a long while since I was involved in a creative project, but here is something I'm involved with that I think is a worthy cause.

A group of artists have been travelling around the world providing workshops and safe play spaces for children who live in areas recovering from the ravages of war and trauma, such as Kosova. This work has been very effective in promoting co-operation, co-ordination, trust, self esteem and most importantly a sense of hope. They have now travelled to Iraq with the aim of improving the mental and emotional wellbeing of the thousands of Iraq children who have nothing.

More information about the project and their aims and objectives can be found here at www.circus2iraq.org

How have I become involved? I'm glad you asked. A friend of mine who runs a Performers Agency, as well as being involved with organising theatrical stunts for Mark Thomas (Comedian/Activist - Channel 4), decided that she wanted to do something practical to help the Iraqi people. So in the best traditions of doing a show and saving the orphanage she's decided to run a Cabaret night showcasing some of the world class acts who work with her. (I'll be in black, backstage - where else would you expect to find me! )

The details of the show can be found below. If you can make it along, it would be fantistic to see you there. I realise it is expensive at £15 a throw (£12.50 conc), but it's a really good cause and all of the money will go to the performers in Iraq.

Much love and hope

Box Office www.ticketweb.co.uk or 08700 600 100
Tickets £15 (£12.50 concs) - with every penny going to maintain these performers in Iraq.

Right or wrong, weapons of mass destruction or no weapons of mass destruction, there have been an enormous number of victims of this war, many of them children.

UNICEF figures estimate that half a million Iraqi children under the age of eight were killed as a direct result of the sanctions alone. Those who are left need a smile. It is not enough, but to remind them that they are children, it is a really important starting point.

Please join us in supporting the amazing people who are out there taking shows and workshops to Iraqi children.

I think my friend Jess is involved with this and has gone to Kosovo and other places.
Will definitely try to make it. Or just buy tickets to support the cause. I can also put the info onto my client mail list if some publicity will help. PM blah blahblah.....
