I was planning on going to Egypt to celebrate the anniversary, but I won't be able to afford it - so this might be an alternative.

Anyone else from the Underground going?

Hmmm... having had a closer look I don't know. A day of talks can get a bit tiresome, anybody know if there's any workshops and so on?

I intend to go. 10 hours does sound rather over long. But just 'cus you pay for the whole day doesn't mean you can't skip off to the pub now and then.

I'm thinking of going. Maybe folks who want to could get together for some tinnies in the evening afterwards.

Andrew Collins ....will discuss the Spirit of Aleister Crowley and ask whether it is accessible.

I hope he tries to channel him. That'll liven things up.

Yeah, I'd love to meet up with some Barbelith'ers - but I'm leaving for London tomorrow.

If anyone decides to meet up feel free to e-mail me (it's in the profile) and tell me where and when.

I can't be arsed to listen to a day of talks but may come along for a drink at some stage. GL, I'll text you on the day.

I'm going along to this. Will likely spend a lot of it in the pub, but I'm going all the same. Definitely want to try and catch Nema, Lionel Snell and Andy Collins's talks though. Would be cool to organise a mini-magick forum meet type of thing, if people are up for it.

Come to think of it, if anyone doesnt fancy sitting through the talks, but does fancy a Barbelith Temple easter saturday in the pub, there'll probably be a steady stream of people drifting between the bar and conway hall. The most immediate pub round there is the Red Lion, but it's likely to be packed all day. Any thoughts?

I want to see Nema and Lionel Snell, that would be cool, but £25--hoo boy. What's the plan with drinks? You think I can lure Nema to the pub by chanting her name backwards three times?

The Dolphin Tavern is just down the little alley leading off of Red Lion Sq. Seems inevitable that I'll pop in there at some point.

BiaS - I'll text you. It's not the £25 that's putting me off, but the day of talks = snooze.

ahh. I was really really honestly planning to go and everything but I got to this point in the night and asked myself if i should go and get fucked with my close friends or have an early night to make it to the lecture.

And I asked what would crowley do.

which is why I probably am not going to show up tomorrow.

Well that was a bit rubbish and full of nutters!

LAShTAL
13:00 / 11.04.04
Absolutely!

Andrew Collins and his epic search - sorry, "Psychic Quest" - for communication with the spirit of Aleister Crowley, including a sequence in the "Chapel Of Abominations" and the re-discovery of the Holy Grail - about which he became unaccountably shy - was quite possibly the daftest and most absurd presentation I've seen at any Thelemic event, ever. Truly bizarre!

LAShTAL
21:15 / 11.04.04
I should add that the rest of the event was okay - and parts, like Lionel Snell's lecture, were very good...

Ha..I actually quite like Collins' talk.It was fun. Got there a bit late so missed Michael Staley and Lionel Snells talk. Quite enjoyed Mogg Morgans bit but the rest was pretty dull. For such an important date they could have put on a bit more of a show. People reading extracts from their books. Dull. Pub was fun after though where i met the nutters which is always interesting.

Nah, Andy Collins peice was the only thing worth hearing in my book. The rest was dreary as hell, although I missed Lionel Snell and Michael Staley. At least Collins gets out there and does stuff, has mad adventures in Egypt, communicates with Spirits, does crazy shit. I think his point was that Thelemites, by and large, tend to obsess over the received material of Thelema rather than egaging directly with the various processes by which that material was received. Processes that Collin's mob are pretty much up to their necks in.

So no opinion of the prophetess of Maatian thought? As my first self-initiatory cycle was HML work of nine moonths, I am interested in direct impressions of Madam NEMA.

I've been to the Astral Moonbase Temple many times. I haven't yet returned since I finished my cycle. I imagine now that my Ptv Temple is Set in the material, I can safely return to visit the HML astral meeting space, next NU Moon. And considering the number of times my future Self has warned me of shit, I'm probably due for an Etir Emit Esrever*, soon too.

THELEMA::AGAPE

*Reverse Time Rite The concept of Reverse Time is vital to Maatian mysteries in that the Aeon of Maat is actually transmitting backwards in time to connect with us here in the midst of the Horus Aeon, thus the double current [IAHM].
