Do The Archons Directly Kill Anyone In The invisibles?

Just a theory, i should check but it's late...when the archons come through into this world (like the king of tears in apocalipstick), do they ever actually hurt anything? Or do they just make people do it?

Good question. My sort-of-dim memory on this tells me that the archons use humans to do their dirty work, but the archons themselves attack in the form of excruciating emotional and psychic pain, bringing out all the worst fears and damaging doubt and insecurities in their target.

doesn't the King-Of-All-Tears cause a bunch of horrible somethings to breed inside that cleaning lady or something?

It's actually Miss Dwyer who kills the cleaning lady. The King of all Tears is there, but he's just looking on. I don't recall an example of the archons actually hurting anyone either.

Is the moonchild monstrosity considered an archon? It ate homeless people...

Surely the moonchild was a separate entity created by the Archons through their human agents?

Whenever I hear the word "archon" I think of that old computer game.

That's really interesting, I don't think they did...

Even the Moonchild didn't kill anybody that I remember - they chopped up the hobos before feeding them to it - much like I do with my dog. (Except maybe for the guy with the spikey-haired daughter and the failure-fantasy-complex - I don't think they chopped him up first...) Hm.

Nah guys, the Archons CAN'T kill anyone because I don't think that they have any objective reality. They're just the way that the human conciousness experiences the approaching Supercontext as the Other... The Dark Side of the Barbelith, I suppose, for all you Floyd fans (and who wouldn't be?)

Issue 4 of volume three would suggest that the King Of All Tears himself, as opposed to Cyphermen, is directly attacking the Invisibles as they send Robin back in time, but how that tallies with what we see in series 2, or 3.1 for that matter, you might want to chalk it up to yet another artist jam cock-up.

MAN, I loved that fucking game! It was chess but the pieces would actually battle when you tried to take a square - each player would control a guy and fight to the death for the space!

sorry, just had to interject that.

I think the appearance of the Archons whenever the Time Machine is being used has something to do with the inter-dimensional gateway being opened whenever the machine is used. Something about the nature of the gateway being opened allows the Archons to appear, but I don't know how to explain the connection in metaphysical jargon.

It's been a while since I read the books, but didn't King of All Tears kill Jolly Roger?

i was thinking the same thing Lord M, he picks her right up by the head, but does he kill her?

From the pages, it looks like the Shoggoth thing is choking Jolly Roger, but then is shot by Sir Miles. After that, Jolly Roger is on the ground, gasping for air, when she too is shot by Sir Miles. So, she isn't killed by an archon, though whether the shoggoth would have killed her if he hadn't been shot is up for debate.

En masse. In my suckful opinion, the King of All Tears represents the Military - secret science and all. You can see he is the master of Ms. Dwyer, Ms. "International Police".

On the other hand the King in Chains represents organized religion.

Rex Mundi would have to be Google, but that probably won't do it.

And the others I don't know! Your mom probably.
