I read a mini-comic by Rich Johnston many years ago about God helping out on an advertising campaign or something like that - it was cute but nothing amazing, IMO. This looks similar - ok but not really exciting me. Although good for him if he can parlay his rumor column into some marketability as a writer, I guess. I enjoy his rumor column.

The 24 Hour Camic - http://24.ninthart.com/rich - was actualy done in 15 1/2 hours. Not too bad for 22 pages, surely?

Hope you enjoy the book when it comes out. It's taken considerably longer to write, and has been tested on stage... fingers crossed...

So the story for the comic was a stage play, or you had a staged reading done of it?

And 15 1/2 hours to do your 24 hour comic - that is pretty impressive!

That's the worst art I've seen in a quite a while. Awful faces. It's pretty sad to see you spamming most of the comics forums I browse, Rich, fair enough you want to promote your stuff buy posting in the X-Men core titles (Xavier Institue) forum at X-Fan? For shame. It's like an unsigned band spamming every music message board in sight, and it's really offputting.

But yeah, I like the column. WHEN IT IS NOT TRYING TO SELL ME THINGS.

One thing: Why is this "Rich Johnston's Holed Up" and not "Johnston and Martinez' Holed Up"? The credit makes it look like Johnston writes and illustrates the book.

Its either
A) because Rich owns the rights to the holed up intellectual property (no-one writes stories now do they?) while the artist doesn't or
B) Because the publisher (rightly IMO) figures that Rich Johnston, authour of a widely read gossip column will attract more readers than martinez would (not a slight on Martinez- just rich has better name recognition)

There is even the possibility that this has to be 'Rich Johnston's' comic in case readers mistake Rich Johnston for fellow Brit comics writer Antony Johnston.

I'm resident geek on Popbitch after ousting penhapus from that position some month's back.

The title of the comic was news to me, I'd just called it "Holed Up". It's the publisher's call.

Gonzalo Martinez is on a page rate. I'm on percantage of profits. Yes, I know what that means. And I know about Forrest Gump.

I own the Holed Up copyright, yes. Creator-owned, it's been performed on stage as part of the Sitcom Trials before now.

I think Gonzalo's faces are ace. A lot better than mine...
