My answer to this would be "yes, but not quickly". I would say that all the practices I've undertaken and stuck with, have given me some kind of results, pretty much. But the results are better when you carry things through to the degree it becomes part of your life, which obviously takes a while. I know I've done this when I feel happy with explaining things/ instructing other people in it. All these things then impact on your sense of self, relationships etc. This is not to say things won't happen in the short term that won't knock your socks off - certainly did to me, usually when I wasn't expecting it/looking out for it - but but this is different from a deep level of fascination and engagement with a system or set of practices.
There maybe something to be said for quick results (that came out as "re-sluts" first time I typed it which sounds quite fun). I get the impression NLP for instance, is very critical of the years of therapy approach - thoughts? |
