Not really news of any kind, since he's published there before, but the current New Yorker (Feb. 16 & 23) has an excellent two-page strip by Chris Ware -- which if you go to Borders or wherever can be yours for, y'know, the price of a fairly expensive single issue of most comics ($4.95). I typically read the New Yorker anyway of late, 'cause I wanna sound smart and stuff, and was happily surprised to find the strip while flipping the pages, only to read it and come dangerously close to crying like a little bitch. The bastards have SEALED IT IN A PLASTIC WRAPPER, but if you can subtly rip that bad boy open and read the strip, I say go for it...though, y'know, much of the rest of the magazine is pretty cool, too. Umm...that is all. |
