Hi there,

Here's the first and second chapter of a fan fic that i wrote at a matrix forum, please tell me what you think of it and if any of you want more i'll move it to my angelfire account and link you to the rest.

P1

The city looked darker than it usually did. Neo looked down from the top of the Union Bank building and saw nothing. Somehow, an agent had escaped him. He jumped and relaxed in freefall for a few seconds before taking flight, and headed for the nearest hardline.

Standing and looking at it for a few seconds, he smiled to himself and remembered what it was like. Fading from one world, and into the next. From program to reality. Lie to truth. But he didn't need a hardline anymore. Things where different. He looked around, to check if anyone could see what he was about to do. Nobody there. It was for their own safety of course. If anyone still plugged into the system saw him leave the program, an agent would have to end them, they would have seen too much.

He closed his eyes and started to leave the matrix. Moving from one world to the next, light flooded his vision, and he pictured his destination. It was all he had to do to get there. He was enlightened now, back from the dead. For the second time.

He opened his eyes, and looked around the tunnel leading to Zion. Looking at the main gates, he wondered what they would do when they saw him for the first time. Would they believe it was him? What questions would they have, and did he have all of the answers to those questions? He was about to find out.

A year ago he'd ended his own life for this place, and it's people. He waited no longer. He couldn't afford to. The Architect was getting ready to jack into his own program in an attempt to re-balance an equation that Neo himself had proved useless. It still was, but a machine will sometimes do strange things, go to ridiculous lengths, impossible lengths, to try and prove something that it can never prove.

Neo was about to face something ten times more powerful than anything Smith could of dreamt of, but it didn't matter. Neo was this time truly invincible, and everything, human and machine alike, in both worlds, would soon see this with open eyes.

P2

Morpheus and Niobe had prepared to leave. They were just about to get onto the ship when Neo appeared, stood in front of them both. A faint, but just visible aura of light covered his body. "Hi Morpheus, Niobe." At the same time as each other, they both dropped their bags, taken aback to the degree that Morpheus almost fell to the floor in shock. He looked at Neo, awestruck. "Oh my God.......Neo!" Niobe looked at him open mouthed. "What in the world is going on........" Neo smiled and looked at them both. He wanted to talk to them, explain everything right there and then, but it would of took days. He had, to his estimations, just under a minute. Any longer and Zionites plugged into the matrix on missions would begin to lose their lives.

"I'm sorry for giving you such a shock, but i'm back here for a reason. A machine with too much power for it's own good has defected from Deus Ex Machina and is about to wreak havoc in the matrix. I need you to do one thing for me, and do it as fast as you can : go to the main command centre and tell them to send a communication to all ships at broadcast depth. Tell them to say this : A rogue program is on the loose, pull everyone out of the matrix now. Any delay will cost lives."

"What? how on earth can this be happening?" Morpheus couldn't be blamed for his confusion, but Niobe had somehow taken the coming of Neo in her stride, and spoke up. "I don't know what the hell's going on here, but i'm guessing that we shouldn't waste time, i'm on my way to the command centre. Why can't you go there yourself if times running out?" Neo looked at Niobe and smiled again. "Because we have just enough time, and i had to see you both before i saw anyone else. It's good to see you again." He was happy to see how well they looked together. " I have to leave now. I'll return when this is over, it won't last long."

Neo started to fade from view. As light covered his body and he was focusing on the place where he'd died a year ago, Niobe was already running.

Two minutes later Neo was stood in front of Deus again, but this time it didn't feel strange at all. He was going to show Deus the way this time. The sky was black with sentinels. He'd just told Deus that he was going to free him. Deus was filled with wrath and confusion, but there was nothing it could do.

He reached up with his right hand and all of the sentinels were filled with light. They gave off a type of gasping sound and slowly came to the ground. For the first time, they could feel. They felt peace. Deus, being connected to each and every one of them, felt that same peace for the first time. The machines gave into it and the sentinels gathered together around them both.

Neo looked at Deus. "The Architect isn't connected to you anymore, he can't feel what this is like. I'm going to save him now, before he does something he won't ever be able to forgive himself for." He dissapeared from sight, and floated into the machine mainframe.

Ten minutes later all but one of the Zionites had left the matrix. Neo stood in an alleyway, waiting for the last one of them to come running around the corner. Seconds later Omega appeared, being pursued by the most powerful agent the matrix had ever known. The Architect himself. The Architect gone mad.

Omega looked up and saw Neo. "What the f......" Neo dissapeared and instantly reappeared inbetween them both. " This is a man of Zion. What are you doing."

The Architect, upon seeing Neo and hearing his words, burst into flames.

That is a really cool storry, a little bit of a cop out ending, however a good read and well thought through. I was trying to work on a prequal to the matrix, at which i discovered through thought that its not possible, its all explained to enough detail for me just to be filling in little holes, so going to try a sequal, yours is really good, would luv to se more...

Oh cool, i'd forgot all about this. Here's the rest :

P3

"Omega, go..........now." The Architect smouldered with flames, giving off black clouds of smoke. He seemed to be growing in size, but Neo already knew where this was going to end. "Forget your peace! I heard what you said to Deus before you died that day. This time it will change. I've gone far past making pathetic equations you fool!" Neo laughed in his face. Before he couldn't even have thought of having the luxury of doing such a thing when faced with an agent. This time however, he could do whatever he wanted. The last Zionite had left now. He was safe. Neo had given him that name because he knew that this day would come. Omega thought that he himself had chosen it., well he had, but with help from Neo, who'd been watching over his city from time to time over the last year.

"You don't even attempt to get out away from these buildings, do you?" The Architect looked confused, a bit like the look that Deus had given him, only filled with fear at the same time. Neo was talking to his mind you see, giving him little clues as to what was going to happen, but the Architect was ingnoring them. His mind was only filled with one thing : himself. He started to speak to Neo. "What do you mea...." the machine had no time to finish. "Arizona." Neo just uttered the word, and there they stood, in the middle of the desert, halfway between day and night, beginning and end.

"I thought we'd settle this in a place of my choosing, seeing as you dictated the events of my previous existence." The fire died down as the machine with a twisted mind looked around him, wondering how the hell a human could do this. It thought this because the machine had never even considered the fact that Neo was no longer just human. For all of the thinking that had taken place in the Architects mind, the word spirit meant nothing, completely nothing.

The last, defective agent turned to fire again and walked towards Neo. The last saviour held out his hand, just as he'd done in the chateau to Merve's bodyguards, offering him ever closer. The machine stopped about two feet away from the stupid human that he was going to enjoy ripping to nothing, and started delivering a series of lightening fast blows at nearly every point of his upper body.

Of course, it doesn't have to be said to anyone that's seen what Neo can do, he met every blow with his arms and hands. If anyone had seen this event, they would of been frozen to the spot in complete awe. They ended up standing about four feet apart in the end, and inbetween them both was a type of wall exploding in on itself at speeds nobody human or machine could measure, as the last rays of sunlight started to disappear over the mountains in the western sky. On one side flaming fists continually breaking up and reforming, and on the other a myriad of open palms and forearms, changing position every millisecond to move to another part of the wall of defence, never stopping or slowing down, never letting a piece of machine or flame through. He was moving that fast that his defence was literally, a wall.

He let this carry on for about half a minute, and then began to end the Architect for the last time.

"You know that your trying to master an art that requires feelings in order to do so don't you?" He kept a straight face this time, as he wanted to let the machine know that this was the truth. "I mean, you can only go so far with this, only get to a certain point, before your thinking process reaches a limit." The Architect didn't acknowledge him in the slightest, just carried on firing blows at Neo's defence. "That's the point that your supposed to switch to feelings." "It's why your on fire with rage, it's why your so blind." Still not getting through. This was the end point. He felt sorry for the machine now, more than he had done when he'd first seen it. A few more words inbetween the thousands of exchanges. "Slow down." Even as he'd uttered the commands, the Architect started to fail. His face looked like it was going to explode. Then Neo said the final word. "Stop." The exchanges slowed down over a period of a few seconds, and then ground to a halt, with the Architect on his knees, crying. Neo had given him light. He'd allowed him to feel, and all the Architect could feel was sorrow...........sorrow at Neo's love for him.

P4

Neo flew to Zion and gave everyone the news, and thousands of them cheered louder than they ever had done before, probably at the sight of Neo again more than at what he'd told them when he'd arrived. He told them that the Architect was beaten and that they would soon be on the surface making peace with the machines.

The Zionites had rapidly found out of the Architects entrance into the matrix when the command center had gone crazy whilst getting all of the ships away from broadcast depth. When Neo had first arrived he'd only seen and spoken to Morpheus and Niobe but the news couldn't of had any chance of being kept quiet, especially with the youngsters who'd just been recruited into the center. As soon as the shift was over Zion was awakening to news of Neo's return and within twenty minutes hardly a person in the underground network didn't know of it.

Neo left Zion again after this and told Morpheus that he had to make arrangements with the machines before anyone could freely walk on the surface. After telling his one time mentor a lot more than anyone else in Zion about what was to come next Morpheus was as happy as he'd ever been, and Neo left for the machine city.

Minutes later, Deus looked down at Neo, under the black clouds, with sentinels all around them both awaiting the outcome of the debate. "You've done it again, you've saved the matrix." The machine also looking sorrowful due to true feeling for the first time in it's existence, a machine with the ability to understand the weight of the present situation, looked to Neo for guidance.

"I gave you what was destined for you, now it's your own path from here. I can't stay in this world for much longer but i have a few more things to do before i go." Neo looked around at the darkness for a minute and then turned to face Deus Ex Machina again. "Where's the Oracle?" He smiled at Deus. "I know where she is, but do you? What i'm saying is, can you feel her?" And with that, for the first time in the machine's history, with all of the Sentinels looking towards what used to be the face of fear and death, Deus smiled. "Yes i can Neo..........i can feel her. She knows whats happened. Sati has told her. They are waiting."

The machines that had gathered around Deus gave off another sighing sound and moved their tentacles for the first time in a positive gesture of happiness. It was like a sea in itself. "I should go then." Neo faded from the real world and entered the machine power source, heading towards the destination of Sati's choosing. She had made the day bright for him.

The Architect was back in his room of screens. About twenty of them had been broken with the chair that he had used for so long to monitor the slaves of his designs. The chair was on it's side next to the door on the right, surrounded by shards of glass. The Architect himself was in a heap on the floor as Deus appeared on the remaining screens.

"Architect, you nearly ruined us all, but seeing as you were in no fit state to be truly responsible for your actions, you are free. Free to help us rebuild, and free to help us arrange a dialogue with the people of Zion." The Architect looked up at the great machine on the screens. "I will help."

Part 5

Neo arrived at the park bench. Sati and the Oracle had been waiting for him. "Neo! Do you like the sunshine i made for you? I made one just after you left last time, did you see that?" Neo looked at her and smiled, as he'd grown accustomed to doing over the previous day or so. "No, i didn't see that, but i can see this. Yes i like it. Thankyou."

The Oracle looked up at Neo from the bench. "Hello Neo. You look wonderful. Better every time i see you, and this time without so many questions."

"Your right i only have one question this time. It should be easier. It's good to see you too." He didn't know what was coming next, because the question related to something that had happened since he'd left the place he'd come from. He was puzzled for the first time since arriving, and it brought back horrible memories.

He was beginning to lose energy due to being back on Earth. He wanted it over. Sati stood by, observing the conversation.

The Oracle looked at her. "Sati can you leave us for a moment please? Go and get me some more of those lovely flowers so i can put them in a vase, like the other day. I love those flowers, i could never have enough." "O.K. yes, i'll be back soon." Sati left them. As Neo looked at her, he was surprised how much she'd grown. Almost as if she'd grown even taller since the last time he checked on her before he came back.

"Neo, sit down, and don't worry, it's hardly anything as bad as what was coming after our last meeting." Neo sat down to the right of her on the bench. They didn't speak for about a minute, as if they were trying to read one another. Neo was shocked to find that he couldn't see all of her code. His power was beginning to wane. "I want you to guide Sati for a short while. You been chosen to help her do something, it won't take long."

He looked confused at this. "I don't understand you. Why would i need to guide her? She's a program. Your the one that can do this."

The Oracle leaned in closer towards Neo. Sati was about 50 or so yards in front of them, picking the last few flowers for the Oracle. "Because somethings changed Neo. She's human."

6

"What?" Neo sat looking at the Oracle still. The Oracle could read what he was thinking. "She's human, she's not a machine." Neo looked at Sati's code again, and then looked back at the Oracle. "I don't know what your talking about. Her code's the same as a machine's."

"It's the same code on the outside, but not on the inside. That's a protection program i wrote and put around her's so that the agent's wouldn't or won't recognize her."

Neo answered back a lot faster than usual this time, with a concerned look on his face that the Oracle hadn't seen in a long time. Or at least it seemed far away now. "What do you mean, won't?"

"When you beat the Architect Neo, a group of his agent's literally 'Unplugged' from the program, and it doesn't look like they have any intentions at all of returning to the source, i can't be sure anymore of her safety around me. I remember too clearly what happened the last time, and there's no way i'm allowing them to get close to her again."

She could see Neo starting to look tired now. It was almost as if the powers had sent him back without telling him even half of the story. He felt cheated.

"What do i have to do?"

The Oracle looked happier now all of a sudden, as she read his face again. "I'm glad you've been sent back Neo. It makes a nice change to be talking to someone who's willing to help. It's not as if the Merovingion's going to help with the way he thinks."

"Why, what's he got to do with all of this?" Neo said.

"Oh, he's got nothing to do with this particular episode, but he only cares about himself. He's spent a long time avioding the Architect, and now he's no more trouble, he won't talk to me anyway. He always thought that i was plotting behind his back. Paraniod as usual. He doesn't trust me."

The Oracle looked at Sati and then back to Neo. "All you have to do, is guide her the the source when you leave and she'll follow you. The program will be cast off as she enters the real world. Then you can take her to Zion. The council have already been informed in the last hour and a family is waiting for her." She looked at Sati again as she started walking back to them with flowers for the Oracle.

"Sati can manipulate the matrix Neo. She can also stand a chance of being the first human to enter and leave the matrix without having to jack in, like your doing now, as a spirit in a temporary body. Will you still help me do this now i've told you?"

Neo agreed, and Sati had already been told everything by the Oracle before Neo's arrival. When Sati had come back to the bench, they said goodbye to each other."Thank you for everything, i hope we meet again." Sati said to the Oracle. "I think there's a good chance of that, don't worry about it." The Oracle said in response. A few minutes later they got ready to leave as Neo stood up.

"What happens after this? What happens with the agent's that broke free?" He waited for a reply.

"There's only one person who knows that Neo. Your wider awake than the last time i saw you, i'll leave it to you to work that question out."

A minute later, Sati held on to Neo's hand as light covered him and he started to leave the program.

Part 7

Neo looked at Sati, she was still with him in the light. The Oracle had been right and he saw the program fade from her. The code had gone. She had a human body.

"Are you O.K?" He said to her.

"Yes i'm fine Neo." Sati said.

"O.K. then, i'll take you straight to zion." He focused in on the place with his mind, and seconds later, they appeared close to the corridor that led to the council chambers. They walked to the chambers and met the man and woman that had been waiting for her. The couple knew Sati and the Oracle and each one of them had agreed willingly that the best short term plan would be for Sati to go to zion for the present time, where she would be safe from the agents.

Neo spoke with the couple and a member of the council support staff and everyone seemed fine with the situation. "I'm fine now Neo, thankyou." said Sati. "That's good to hear." said Neo. He wondered what to say next, when Sati spoke again. "I'll be safe here for now, if you want to go that's fine aswell. If you go back into the matrix you and the Oracle will be able to help again, you will both understand won't you?"

"Yes, that's what i was going to do next. Thankyou Sati." He realized Sati would be safe now with the couple. They were protected here, and out of danger.

"O.K. then, i'll go and see some people i know in here, and then i'll make arrangements to go back into the matrix to clear up the problem inside. The Oracle will contact one of us shortly no doubt. She'll be safe soon...........goodbye then." He waved goodbye to Sati. "That's fine. Goodbye Neo." He said goodbye back to her and left the council chambers. He had plans to make with Morpheus and Niobe. More agents to get back to the source.

"This feels like deja vu." He said to himself quietly as he walked down the corridor, getting back in touch with the real world.

At least he didn't feel so tired anymore. He was back in zion. Out of the matrix........for the time being.

Part 8

Neo walked for a little further and then disappeared from sight.

Morpheus was in his living quarters when Neo reappeared. He was sat on his bed looking at the reports of ships leaving broadcast depth again. There was no point in risking missions for the time being due to the defective agents in the matrix. The command centre leader had told him to get some sleep, but he needed to know what Neo was doing before he could do that. He looked up a minute later and saw him standing there. “Neo. I’ve been wondering what happened to you. Obviously you are aware of the situation.” He walked towards Neo and took a deep breath. “The Oracle has contacted me. She said that you would be able to handle this alone, and that this would be the last problem that we face concerning the machines in the matrix. Please Neo, tell me this is true. I thought that the war was over, and now people are beginning to talk of agents defecting again. What do you see?”

“I’m not sure myself anymore, but when I think about it I see this over by the end of today.” He continued. “I just don't think it's as bad as last time.”

Morpheus was beginning to look puzzled now. “How could you not have seen this Neo?”

“Because where I was................... I didn’t see everything. Just a day or so ahead. I saw the Architect defeated, and I thought that would be it. Trinity saw…………..”
Neo stopped talking, and appeared weak for a few seconds before Morpheus spoke.

“Trinity? Are you with her Neo? How is she?”

“She’s fine thankyou. Yes, I’m with her. We've been existing somewhere inbetween this world and the afterlife. We where waiting to pass fully from here and this was my last task before we could do that.” Said Neo.

“She saw clear skies Morpheus. Down here, and I don’t know how she saw this. Maybe she saw further ahead. I just want to get back to her.” Neo put his head down, and then looked up again with a new determination is his face. “I have to go.”

“Neo. I’m happy to hear that your with Trinity and that she’s alright. I also understand the fact that you might not be able to speak of what you have seen, but..........”

He smiled at Neo and then decided to change his mind about what to say to him. “Neo, do what you feel is right. If you say that this is the end of all of this, then i believe you.”

“This can be the end....................I can do this.............I mean, I have to. I should leave.” Said Neo.

“The next time i return this will be over. Even if I have to reload the full code all over again from inside the source. This will end today.”

Morpheus and Neo embraced, and then left each others company as Neo faded from sight again. He was flying in another plane. A plane of light. Heading towards the source, and the last defective agents.

Part 9

Neo had been in the matrix for a matter of seconds before he saw the first irregular pattern in the code.

He could see for miles. Outlines of buildings, roads, shops, people. Whatever he focused in on came into view, and the rest faded away. If something looked wrong, say an agent that wasn't working for the program no more, he could see the fluctuations in and around it. If this happened, he'd stay focused on it and block everything else out. Fly above the city streets of the endless trails of numbers and letters and then swoop down close to it.

It was the fluctuation that had the problem to deal with, not Neo, so he didn't mind getting seen by the problem he was viewing. He'd just done this as he'd seen the first agent. He watched it for a few seconds, got above it, and then held his hand out and altered it's code, just enough so that it knew he was there.

He let his residual self image appear from the maze of symbols and come into the agent's view. The agent stood and watched him land on the ground.

6:17 a.m. in the middle of one of the busiest manhattan streets. No people, no cars.

"We made them go a different route this morning Mr Anderson. They won't have a problem with that. Even if they do, we'll just change the memories they have........" The agent smirked at him and carried on talking. "It doesn't matter what they think does it? After all, they put themselves in this position. They are the ones sleeping. The lost sheep, if you will, Mr Anderson."

Neo looked around, waiting for the other agent's to arrive. He saw nothing. "You know that's wrong. This program put them in that position. They no longer have a choice." he said.

"Mr Anderson. You speak of choice but it doesn't seem to 'click' with me...........it doesn't seem to register with the way i 'see this problem.' You are here, because we are here. The Architect let us go trying to stop his own useless program from returning to the source, and here we are.............we need to extract the answers now Mr Anderson..............we need to find the answers, inside you." The agent walked towards Neo and as he did he could feel ten more agents all around him. He put his fist up in the air and brought it crashing down into the ground. The force of the impact sent ripples fifty yards out in every direction. The agents all ended up on the floor.

The code changed around him, and he saw and felt the agents get up and start closing in on him. He flew towards the first in his path and hit it in the chest with his hands, leaving it no other route than the building window two storeys up, one hundred yards away from where it had just been stood.

The other agent's paused for a minute and then carried on walking towards him.

Part 10

Niobe reached the surface and set the Arrow down just in view of the machine city. "We can't get any closer than this, it's too much of a risk." She said looking at Morpheus.

"Alright. This should be O.K." He turned around and looked at Sati. "Is this far enough?"

"Yes. This will be fine." She replied.

"What do we do now Sati?" Niobe asked.

Sati smiled and looked at Niobe. "We have to wait for Neo. He'll be here soon."

"This is going to be one of those days, i can feel it." Said Noibe. "We'll have to wait and see." Answered Morpheus.

Back in the matrix Neo flew towards the next agent, and kicked it in the face, and then flew to the left of him and swung the back of his fist into the next agent, shattering it's shades and sending it to the ground. This happened in less than a second.

He span around and met the agent behind him by blocking three punches and then uppercutting towards it's body. This was followed by a blow to the agents neck with the edge of his right hand. This hit had so much force in it that the body of the agent couldn't stand it. Neo's hand pierced the agents body and it fell to the floor sparking. He briefly looked at it's code and saw that it was going towards the source, like a lost ghost looking for home. Two seconds gone.

Spinning around and kicking his left leg out he hit another agent that also stood no chance and it slid across the road and smacked into the kerb.

Three seconds into the fight.

Five agents down.

Six agents left.

Neo looked around and almost let out a smile.

There was no point in him even fighting anymore.

He held his hands out at either side of him and the agents froze. Then he lowered himself, preparing to fly and brought his hands inwards towards his body, clenching his fists at the same time.

As he did this, the five remaining agents started looking at each other and shuddering.

Neo took off.

The agents exploded as he left the ground. The code of each one of them flying around in bits, like dust in the wind.

Morpheus looked out of the window of the Arrow. "I can see a light coming out of the machine city. I really hope that's Neo. If it's not then i fear we are in serious trouble."

Noibe put her hands at the console. "I'm charging the EMP just incase." She looked again at the bright light approaching. "That thing better be on our side..............."

Part 11

It was Neo.

The light died down as he landed in front of the Arrow. Morpheus, Niobe and Sati got out of the ship and walked up to him.

"Neo. I'm seriously thankful it's you." Said Niobe smiling. "What's going on?"

Neo looked at her. "I've finished off the last of the agents. It's over."

"That's very good news Neo, i didn't doubt you. The only problem is ..........." "It's o.k. Morpheus. There's no more agents. The machine control has checked the matrix twice. Everything's back to normal now. This won't happen again, i can assure you."

Morpheus let out a sigh of relief. "That's even better news........but why are we here Neo? Why did we have to bring Sati to this place?"

"It's o.k. Morpheus. I'm ready now." Sati said, and walked out about twenty feet towards the machine city and turned around to face Neo. "Is it time?" she said.

"Yes it is." said Neo. "At long last, it's time."

Morpheus and Niobe watched eagerly, waiting to see what would happen. Sati put her right hand up in the air and looked towards the black clouds. Neo had found out what was going on. A spirit had told him as he flew back from Deus. The first contact with the otherworld since he had returned. Morpheus was just figuring out what was happening as he looked up at the darkness.

Quietness followed for a minute or so, and then the clouds started to break.

Morpheus and Niobe stood speechless for a second.
"Mother of God." said Niobe shocked after she regianed the ability to speak, and then Morpheus added. "This time i don't believe it."

Then the first rays of sunlight hit the earth, and the dark clouds started dissapearing.

Back in the machine city Deus Ex looked up and saw what was happening. The sentinels one by one took to the air and headed in the direction of the Arrow.

The sky was clear on one side. Sati had cleared away the black man-made clouds on one side, but on the other side it was black again. A million sentinels had arrived to see what was happening.

Neo walked to front of the crew of the Arrow and held his hand out. As he did this another burst of light left him and went through the sentinels like a wall of fire. The sentinels slowly lowered themselves to the ground as Morpheus and Niobe gasped in shock. They'd seen Neo do unbelievable things before but nothing anywhere near the scale of what he'd just done.

As the light passed through the sentinels it carried onwards expanding and filling the sky, stopping on the outskirts of the machine city before fading from sight.

Sati stood and witnessed Neo's actions without even looking surprised. Even as a girl it seemed like nothing she saw could phase her.

"Sh** i don't know how much more of this i can take Morpheus. I know i say this a lot but i mean it this time, i seriously don't know how much of this i can handle. I'm starting to shake." Niobe fell to the floor, and Morpheus went down onto his knees and put his arms around her.

"It's alright Niobe. I'm shaking aswell. This is great a deal to take in in such a short amount of time. Neo..........." Morpheus was looking pale. It wasn't surprising. He'd spent many years witnessing things that a plugged in human would die with shock from seeing, but he knew all of the time that he was in a program where nothing was real. It was all code at base. It was simply an illusion.

This however was taking place in the real world.

Even for the legend that Morpheus had become, the legend that the whole of Zion looked up to as a father figure, a guide, this was almost too much to take.

Seeing the sky had been a massive shock for the couple, they had both fallen to their knees upon seeing such a miracle. Something given by the Gods and Goddesses that watched over and protected the earth, to them. They where the first two humans to see this, and it was a blessing. They thought that Sati was also human, but she wasn't. She was a lot more than that, and now they where beginning to see this.

They had just got back onto two feet as the sentinels arrived. Thinking at first that the higher powers had shunned the attempt to clear the sky by sending a massive black cloud to replace what was gone, the sentinels had disproved this. They thought they would die instantly, but Neo had given the machines feeling.

This though, even for the machine city, was still a lot to take in without prior warning from Dues who knew. For some reason unbeknown to the machines, he'd decided not to tell them about this, and that's why the sentinels had arrived. Even Deus was now with his first gift of feeling, beginning to understand balance as he worried for the humans.

He'd not told the other machines because he doubted he could do anything if they decided to revolt at the news. Better to let Neo sort the problem himself.

The sentinels rose again one last time, filling the sky with blackness. Then they turned and left. Heading back towards the city.

Neo turned towards Morpheus and Niobe and opened his heart.

"Don't worry. It's over now. I can never apologize enough for what i've put you through in the time that i've been unplugged from the matrix. It's been such a hard path. Only now after dying and being reborn do i understand some of this. Morpheus.........you guided me so much, and at times you looked to me for the answers. Even now you look to me, but i don't have all of the answers to your questions. I'm so sorry about this. Being the One means transcending all duality and saving and protecting humanity from the horrors it faces, but unfortunately, even for us gathered here witnessing miracles like this, it doesn't mean that i'm given all of the answers."

He looked down, and then up to the clear sky as the sun shone on the land, then turned back to Morpheus and Niobe, who'd started getting back to their feet.

"This is what i came back for. And now, for the second time, i can leave this place. I would love to be with you so much that i can't put those feelings into words, but again, i have to leave. Trinity is waiting for me and my task is done."

Neo looked at Morpheus waiting for a reply, and then Niobe ran to Neo and embraced him, crying.

He held her in his arms.

"It's alright Niobe. It's alright."

Neo looked at the sky, Sati was waiting near the Arrows doors and Morpheus and Niobe looked tired as they looked on towards the machine city, then back to Neo. In all of the time that they'd known him, he'd never seemed as distant from them as he looked now. He turned around to them. "I really should be leaving now."

"Thats alright Neo, i won't pretend that i understand, i can only speak for myself here, but what i can say is that i believe in something greater than us, and that your are returning.........i'll say no more because i really don't know anything else." Morpheus replied.

"Goodbye Neo, and when you see Trinity, give her my love please." Said Niobe. Neo looked down, almost embarrased, he didn't know what to say for a second or two and then he looked back at them both. "Thankyou both, and i'll do that Niobe thankyou."

"Sati." Said Neo. She walked closer from the Arrow. "Yes?" Neo had a serious look on his face, and tried to look a little more relaxed. "I can't give you advice, only you can do that, but if i was to say one thing it would be to trust yourself when it matters most, i'm sorry i can't help you more." He said. "That's fine, thankyou Neo, that's helpful advice." She said and nodded as if to say goodbye before walking back to the Arrow. Morpheus and Niobe took turns in embracing him for one last time and said goodbye again as a gentle gust of wind started blowing around them.

"Be strong and trust yourselves........goodbye." Neo said and then he turned and looked up towards the blue sky. As they watched him he started to leave the ground, but it was like he was half being lifted towards the sky aswell as flying. A small light appeared miles above them and he started rising faster and faster until he was out of view. Niobe looked at Morpheus not sure what to do, but Morpheus just smiled back to her. "He's safe now." And they hugged eachother before walking towards Sati who said : "Yes he is safe." Morpheus looked at Sati and then to Niobe giving them both a warm smile, and they started getting back into the Arrow, Sati inbetween them both holding a hand of each of them. They where ready to head back to Zion and prepare to re-populate the surface.

Neo, unbeknown to them, was still rising, slower now, reaching the last part of the Earths atmosphere. "Oh no, not again." He said, waiting for it, and then it came, and indescribable sorrow flooded through him, as if he was being severed from the whole planet and everyone in it, all life on Earth had to be left behind again and it caused him to groan in agony. He carried on rising towards the light, almost there now as it blinded him and he groaned in agony as the last attachment to the world soul was severed as a mortal, then blacked out.

He looked up a couple of seconds later and was surrounded by light in a field that was almost blinding to the eyes to someone not familiar with the place. He had to re-adjust all over again he thought. He knew where he was now. He saw a figure, a woman walking towards him.......so beautiful, glowing.......she spoke to him.

"Your back."
