If memory serves, it kind of started out with various creators each doing their bit – Al Davison and Bryan Talbot spring to mind, but I could be wrong – and then settled down to being written mainly by Caitlin Kiernan and Peter Hogan, though more the former than the latter.
It wasn’t bad at all, though I must admit that towards the end I was starting to lose interest, only to hear it was being cancelled, so thought I might as well stick around to see how it turned out (hmmm, shades of a Loki line in the Sandman there, methinks). Overall, it was pretty good, but I think that the majority of the moments I found most interesting were those featuring characters from the Sandman series, seeing what happened next for them. Somehow didn’t quite engage with the newer characters in the same way, though that might simply be because they didn’t have the familiarity gained from re-reading which the Sandman characters tended to have for me, if that makes any kind of sense… |
