What's going on in New Orleans?

Are there any New Orleans Barbies? I will be there for two weeks from the 15th. Anyone up for anything?

Just popping up to say that I'm going to nominate the other thread for deletion due to duplication.

I've never been to N.O for carnival or otherwise, it sounds like a hoot. What's the deal?

I don't know what the deal is. And thanks for deleting my duplicate thingy. Obviously Barbelith does not have a strong presence there. I'm going to visit my mother and get away from the grime and stress of London for a bit. I've never lived there but visited and it is the strangest, darkest, most wonderful city I've ever wandered round. I wonder if I should make up some Barbelith fliers and promote or something?

Well, goodbye London Barbies. Looks like there are no barbelith people in New Orleans. Perhaps they don't even have computers there? hmmm

Well, shoot. I'm from Houston, but I lived there as a kid and have been there many times since. The last times I were there last year were for a funeral and a road trip, respectively, so I didn't ge to kick up my heels. If you like traditional Italian food, try Pascale Manale's on Napoleon a few blocks north of St. Charles. There used to be a fantastic club called the Shim Sham, but now it's a floating party night. There's also a cool tiny bar in Pirate's Alley, next to the cathedral on Jackson Square. It serves Absente, which unfortunately has no wormwood because of the US restrictions.

I go mostly for the shopping.
