i would like to use blogger, but not for anyone else to actually read...

is this possible?
the adverts that afford you free space need to be seen, dont they?
is there a way to make a private blog, one that is only open to those with an invitation?

i have been emailed, and apparently i should be able to pay to get my blog ad free and therefore password protectable.

i cant seem to get a link to let me do this...

is blogger not accepting new customers?

Um, why bother publishing it at all? Just save your posts, don't publish them to the webspace. That'd fix it, assuming you just want to have the copy saved.

As far as I recall, Blogger doesn't offer password protection. You want that, you might want to try Livejournal or something like MT.

wait.. you can do that?
just save, and they'll still be there when you come back?

that sounds better, cheers.

I know on www.livejournal.com you can create 'friends only' posts that will be private as long as you don't list any friends.

Yeah, as has been established, blogger is not the right tool for you; Livejournal is. With Livejournal, you can post to your hearts content and only let the people you want to read it see it.

All the cool kids on B-lith have a secret LJ, man. Join the club.

At the risk of sounding luddite, why not just carry a notebook around? It has the same accessibility, and you don't even need an Internet connection to update it - just a biro.

I'm assuming you'll want a few people to read this at some point, so... maybe make it a mailing list? You can sort that out via Yahoo, IIRC.

You can get banned from Blogger for that sort of attitude.

It's not real unless it's online, don't you realise?

what everyone else said about lj, except they forgot to tell you that you can implement the "private" function and no one reads it but you. one benefit to using livejournal is that you can do as much public lint picking without anyone engaging in the textual equivalent of throwing rotten eggs at you about veering off topic or being rude or what the hell ever the kids are angry about these days. there's also the whole social aspect that's been mentioned

Do LiveJournal, toks. Radix says that the title of my lj should be New York Apartment, it has so many locks. I go through regular notebooks at four weeks a clip, too. I write differently on my livejournal than in my notebook. Different tools give you different effects, yeah?
