Jenny Everywhere in "Beauty as a Beast"

The frenetic Jenny couldn't stay away for long. Not as classy as Sax and KCC's fantastic strip, but mindless fun banged out after seeing LotR.

AND in garish color!

Enjoy.

Whew, that wore me out! Love the colour art - esp that splash page (p9?) with the heads flying everywhere.

Fun piece there, Imp. Makes the Death of Jenny Everywhere look a bit poncey and "there's a cream cracker under the sofa", mind.

Well done.

This one's a really fun romp - love the colors and I think Alessandro's art (if I got his name right) has grown considerably since the last few Jenny adventures he drew. I especially liked that Snow White's headdress is a lot like a famous Disney evil queen/witch's headgear.

Although I imagine imp meant "sorceress" instead of "sorcerous"?

Andres! Andres Alocco! Why do I always want to say "Alessandro Alocco"?

A couple of the word balloons appear to have been reversed making the progression of the story a little awkward to follow on a couple of pages, and on the last page i assume you mean "a shallow regime of beauty" rather than 'a swallow regime of beauty' . Some of the panel transition were not as clear as they might have been particulary the first few panels on page 8. The vibrant colour and shading is also quite attractive though.

Aside from the technical stuff, the story left me rather cold - jenny goes to a cliched fairytale setting where she shows that she's younger and tougher and possibly more beautiful than an aging sleeping beauty who has become obsessed by her looks.

On the plus side, its simplicity reminded me a bit of a children's cartoon, but jenny, using phrases such as 'i'm now on a personal quest to find her and kick har ass', seemed like she was going to transform into Cartman any moment. On the whole though, I think the strip held together better than the graveyard shift.

Yeah, plenty of lettering mistakes that I'm not too happy about... typos and word bubble placing.

But sleaze is right... this was just ment to be a kid's cartoon version of Jenny. Glad to know I'm slowly improving form those Graveyard Shift days.

I certainly agree with HunterWolf that the art has come on a lot, I felt that in some of Andres' earlier stories it was a little "thin", but here it has a satisfying crispness. I didn't have a problem with the cliched nature of the world Jenny visits, it seems pretty clear that it's intentional - if you're going to write a short punchy piece that uses an established genre as a foil I can see the advantage of keeping that genre in a very easily recognisable form. I'd say my biggest quibble is with Jenny's characterisation - she seems to operate on a basis of "swearing and vitriolic mocking are cool", but comes across as kinda petulant. The technical problems do hamper the flow too, I know it's been mentioned already but there did seem to be a few of them. Definitely an enjoyable experience overall though.
