Best artist of the year pick...

When it comes to picking my choice for Best Artist of 2003, though, there's been one name in mind for months now, and though he's left the project which sealed the deal for me, I look forward to seeing where he winds up in 2004. That name is Cameron Stewart, a guy who's been in the industry for some time but who broke out huge in 2003 with his spectacular work on Catwoman.

He wins best desktop of the year too with that Kill Bill desktop he offered up. Ahhhh blood fountains....

YAAAAAAAY CAM!

Aye, well done to you!

Congrats to Cameron - you definitely deserved it!

Here's looking forward to your work in 2004 rocking even harder than your 2003 work - I can't wait for Seaguy!

Suedehead - Forbidden Planet Glasgow had a nice wee bundle of copies of Royale Rumble in stock today. I don't know for sure, but I think that other UK branches of the store get this sort of thing in at roughly the same sort of time, so you should probably look out for it there (or elsewhere) next time you're out buying comics.

I picked up a copy earlier - very nice stuff. All of the stories are beautifully drawn and a whole heap of fun (especially Monster Cops), and Apocalypstix features some of the best Cameron Stewart artwork I've ever seen. Definitely recommended.

Just saw this thread (I've been insanely busy) and I don't want to just offer congratulations, but my own hope that this means that artists that have storytelling ability are starting to be valued again.
