Greetin's! I ran across Barbelith in a search for Nicholas Hawksmoor and
from this site discovered The Invisibles. That appropriately tweaked my
reality and (almost) ever since I've been eavesdropping here. But now
I get up and finally post.
Anything else of note will hopefully come out in the posts. Best!

I see through your cunning lie. That wasn't your first post at all.

How long did you lurk?

I'm also a longtime lurker, and have worked up the nerve to actually post. I ran across this site looking for info on Limp Bizkit, discovered Chuck Austen's Uncanny X-Men through here, and my world has never been the same. Hopefully I'll post again.

Button it, Penfield, we'll have less of your sarcasm.

I've been lurking since May or June of this past year. Between the
constant stream of new info and all the back articles to work through
I haven't found much a need to post until now (and is it really a need,
after all?)

(Hawksmoor and Limp Bizkit...I'm sure someone could dig up a corollary
somewhere...)

Hello.

I actually registered two days ago but there was a bit of a mix-up about the registration (I sent it from my university account, all the messages from there are forwarded to my personal yahoo account and I replied and registered from that one before checking the university account and realising that I screwed up so I waited for the okay from Tom before I posted again).

I'm a 23 year old American university student. I am majoring in History and thinking of specializing in either the Ancient Near East or the History of Medicine. And an aspiring comic book writer.

I'm not really that sure what else I should say here. If you guys have any questions for me then please feel free to ask them.

There's actually a thread here on Nicholas Hawksmoor which you're of course welcome to contribute to, and then there are several threads on Dickyface Hawksmoor (bomb the tweed), but that's an another story.

Hi. Out of interest - and not in the interest of being challenging - why did you decide to post to this thread and not the introductions thread currently being used to house newbie salutations?

Did you use our crazy search function?

there's a crazy search function?

Spaniel
15:35 / 17.02.06
Well, it's not very reliable, and sometimes throws up some rather odd results.

Perhaps eccentric is a better word.

Hello,

I've just joined. write and perform around London, doing whatever works at the time; music and poetry mainly. Erm - I'm also a pretty bad typist. I was led to the site by an interest in Grant's work etc etc.

Am currently reading the long discussion on whether Barbelith is pro-gay and anti-hetero... not nearly finished at all.

Hello, I am myself. i attend a community college on long island, in new york where i currently am trying to achieve the grades necessary to grant me a scholarship to NYU. i am currently double majoring in computer science and electrical engineering. i am minoring in physics in order to understand sound, so that one day i may be able to build my own recording studio. i'm quite interested in philosophy and science, and still i'm positive that i do exist.

Howdy all.
My name is harper and i like to play computers and do interesting things. I am a pro yoyoer and a juggler (hah) and i like to stay up late.

Lately i have been enjoying really horrible scifi/fantasy novels and playing with embedded linux hardware. usually i go out to clubs and sleep a lot. nobody knows what this sudden change in hobbies may bring...

I like listening to metal and i think dragons and such should be the topic of more (better?) metal.

i work for skinnycorp(threadless) and enjoy doing things that are insane.

if you are bored, check out my blog or my pictures.

hello everyone,

i've been reading the site for a while now and am happy to be on here at last... i work for a museum (i'm a grant writer) and am in a masters program in social work-- which i have swiftly grown to hate. due to my hatred of that program and my deep deep love for the movies, i'm applying to doctoral cinema studies programs for fall of 2007. er, i like physics and jung and reading and mythology and the movies and my kittens loki & nimue (hence the name).

oh, and harper, i currently have about 7 or 8 threadless t shirts...

so. hello!

An MSW Jungian film theorist who writes grants?

Why do I feel ontologically challenged by this?

I AM REAL! I AM AN INDIVIDUAL! MY LIFE IS MY OWN!!

Hello to all. My name is Robert, I just got cleared for landing and I’m super-jazzed to be here. I joined Barbelith mainly to stalk Cameron Stewart (I kidd) but since I’m in I figure I might as well join in on the amazing conversation. I’ve read Barbelith off and on for at least 2 years after discovering it during a routine search for instruction on how to create a moon child.

Right now my mind is currently being blown by the crazy, new Mars images with very clear evidence of ruins in them. I really am at a loss for thoughts right now…

I'm back...

I live in Portland OR on the only volcano within a U.S. city’s limits with my boyfriend and my comic books. I do PR for a small independent film studio for $$$ and make my own movies for fun (HD people, believe the hype). I can pretty much guarantee that I am not any better/smarter/radical than any of you but I am a nice guy.

So, thanks for having me! Oh, check out my My Lame Space for more obfuscation. Wait, was there another Intro thread somewhere...

Welcome anyway.

so hi all!
Been reading for a few years now, mostly temple and headshop.
Finally plucked the courage to join.
I like long walks in the woods and the colour blue.
The rest you'll find out if you want [did that soud mysterious and cool enough?].

Hello there, all. I sent my registration a few weeks before christmas and come here, at last.

My name is Keir. I'm a Scottish student, living in Aberdeen. I've spent the weeks from before-christmas to now flicking through the site, and im blown away by what i've seen thusfar. All of these people and ideas and things floating about, concentrated into one overall site is incredible

That's about it, apart from my "Hello's" to all of you.

morning...

I've finally made it here-

I'm Richard (or derivative thereof), I'm living in London and make noises with cellos and anything (or one) I can get my hands on.

I've also been lead to believe I've met some of you in real life

Anyway, hello ~keir, hello RichT, I'm also a fan of music involving whatever strange objects I can get my hand on, at least, that was the excuse I used to get out of a custodial sentence after 'the petting zoo incident'.
